The person you refer to is a copy cat named David Annis who lives in Tampa and is doing 3-5 years in state prison for fraud and other charges.

Tampa Bay is a large metropolitan city I am not the only one who sold Arcade gear. All of my arrests are from Marijuana possession and Assault charges from kicking people like yours ass when you talk shit to me in my face.

I understand that there's bad blood and ill feeling regarding this guy but I think a ban is/was a bit heavy handed. As long as other board members are aware of peoples dubious practices I think that should be enough, then if an individual buyer is fool enough to part with his hard earned money should said member ever offer something for sale and get shafted then they've got no-one to blame but themselves.

Just my opinion.

^^ He can't reply to you matey as he's been banned. He's done nothing wrong here, he's not attempted to steal from or cheat anybody, said or posted anything that could be seen as sexist, racist, homophobic, xenophobic or in any other way inflammatory but he's still been banned nonetheless.

Seems we need to be protected from ourselves as we've apparently not got the guile or perspicacity to be left to our own devices or to make up our own minds.

 

Except for, um, all those other places where he apparently did steal and cheat people (I trust the moderator team did a thorough check before coming to any conclusions). By your rationale, if a known criminal jumps ship to another country he should be treated as innocent. I can't be alone in thinking fuck that shit. If he's known (and well-known by all accounts) for scamming at many other locations then why let him in? What purpose would that serve? So that he can do the same here and get banned later, but only after someone's lost their hard-earned?

The guy comes as God, claims he did so much for the gaming community and we should respect and knee in front of him. Ridiculous.

 

I fully appreciate what you're saying and in all actuality I agree with you 100% and to a certain extent I am and yet at the same time I aren't playing Devil's Advocate, but my thoughts on the situation were that it sends out a strange message when he has been banned for robbing people on other forums in much the same way as has been alleged about Dion, yet a member here called ''inspuration'' scammed/ stole from a fellow member but is still allowed on the boards, as is the aforementioned Mr Dakis.

My main point is that a ban rule should be hard and fast. Yes, if the member in question has a reputation for dishonesty on other established forums then by all means deny them access and ban them but the same should also apply to anyone else already here, namely that if you cheat, deceive or steal from another member you should be banned once all the facts have been ascertained. Raylyd was banned for scamming on ebay, no-one here was compromised yet he's gone so how did this other member slip through the net when he scammed here?

I'm not trying to start a witch-hunt, just trying to highlight a lack of consistency.
