Dion, you should stop it right now and save yourself any further embarrassment. You know full well that NGF never touched Last Odyssey. Sure, it's completely possible to not remember every detail to a game - even if it's a favorite. However, you should know what is and isn't in a game. Mike made it clear many times that not only did he make those questions up, but the very details mentioned were completely pulled out of his ass. Had Chris actually ever played the game, let alone owned a proto, he would've called Mike out on that, and not try to guess.


Also, if you had any shred of integrity in you, you wouldn't be pulling this shit on the public. You've been faced with the facts many times, and each time you make it a point to fluff your posts up with half-promises about your shell of a company while completely skipping over the facts.

You say you've never insulted, used harsh words, or in anyway attacked any member of the gaming community. Tell everyone the truth. There are countless members of n-g.com that still remembers the Dion Dakis that would come into the IRC chat, harass members, and even make light of someone's (eventually tragic) battle with Cystic Fibrosis. There are chatlogs (including IP addresses) from that room that go back so far your head will spin.

The post that came up was interesting but it is one side of the story. And neither side will I ever believe since it's a "he said, she said" situation.

I do agree with Dion about, who are you guys that just suddenly registered at Assembler to tear into Dion? If you have valid questions or points to make that's fine, but for example the guy that posted wanting Dion to "fucking die" or kill himself, that can stay elsewhere.

Whatever this is about "Inserts" or artwork and manuals, I do think it should be clear about the source of these. Official or Unofficial is as Dion said, up to SNK. However it is of interest where they were printed or who printed the materials. It's perfectly fair and valid to know that.

The main point I'd like to stress is that when people degenerate into childish or fanatic insults and threats you can go ahead and leave this forum. I'm sure that Assembler doesn't feel like housing that sort of stupid drama. Not to mention when you resort to that sort of thing, whatever point you may have been trying to make is lost.

I say I stay on topic and never search people out just to give personal attacks. When I say "two faced children," that is a general statement at the 6 people at ng.com that live their lives all around NGF.

I don't save peoples ip addresses, or save photos of other people onto my computer, our spend hours thinking about specific neogeo members (the way they do about chris and myself).

Lets get back to on topic questions, and less about wanting to know what kind of a guy I am.

I really don't understand what the beef neo-geo.com has with Dion and Chris, apart from when their business was in full swing 10 years ago, they might have been less than courteous with certain people, to their detriment.

At the moment, this is all 2 guys words against 6 others - and I guess the fact that hyping a game for the best part of a decade doesn't help matters - but at the end of it all does it really matter? It's a pinball game no-one's that really bothered about, but the fact it has the stigma of being dangled like a carrot is really hurting your reputation Dion.

To be honest: if you were able to a new in-action video at this point, you would have the last laugh on these guys and put things back in check. I really hope you haven't been BS'ing the Neo-Geo fans all this time because, outside of being a touch one-track-minded and marketing-focused in this community, you've always been quite courteous with people here even though NGF & games isn't your primary business any more.

 

There is nothing to understand. It's all high school level name calling drama. Apparently there may have been some business deals that had trouble but it's unclear and it doesn't seem like he was straight out ripping off everyone that did business with him, and as it goes with any business deals it's one person's word against another.

All anyone here is interested in hearing is about prototypes or other NEOGEO information. No one here cares if someone that Dion did business with 10 years ago is pissed off about an unverifiable business deal to the point that we are all supposed to take his word and shun him. Again Dion has been fairly straight forward here from what I've seen, and hasn't resorted to childish and hateful language.

The common misconception is that we are "obsessed" with NGf or Chris Ray, Dion Dakis or whatever.

The sole purpose of any of this was and always has been to educate the unknowing about the shady business tactics of NGF.

You can go to Dion's house RIGHT NOW, ask to see the proto game and it will never happen.

Truth is, Dion has a lot of stuff, a lot of great stuff. It's very interesting.

But I don't understand why, after all these years, Dion and Chris still feel the need to lie.

If someone accused me of lying, I'd pop that game in and record footage to prove that I was hiding nothing.

My predictions are

Either

the NGF relaunch will stall due to random issues / excuses (read ALL people getting too close to realising NGF bullshit)

or

a big song and dance will be made, cover art etc will be shown (note people - a cover made by someone known for faking covers, does not mean said game is inside the case), images of a few 'carts' will be posted 20 times a day, but lo and behold the entire 'run' goes to NGF 'fans' with not one single copy being able to be verified as actually existing. (Because they don't)

My money is on the 'or', as let's face it, has a single converted cart of any of the alleged protos NGF claim to have ever had, a single one, ever been found. That's a no peeps, wonder why. (And this from what he claims must be several hundred carts in all across the titles he claims to have had)

And people here still swallow his BS.

it's like not guilty for lack of evidence which means that one can be a killer/assassin/thief even if a court says he's not

so "probably" you have the item x, but a set of photos is not enough to prove you really have the item

The cleaning is to remove all of the stupid shit that shouldn't even be there. Most of the posts calling Dion out with regards to the protos shall remain there as they are at least vaguely on topic.

I'm not sure what your problem is though, unless it's just that you want to make shitposts everywhere you feel like and now you cannot? I'm sorry but it doesn't work like that - there is a time and a place for it.

Sadly my editing isnt perfect and I may spoil some posts but the majority had little to no value, were repetitive or off topic and as such they should be deleted.
