Given up on my PC for now and have it sitting in bits. As soon as i know whether i'll be getting an RMA or having buy a new board + ram then i'll try and get things up and running if indeed my motherboard was at fault.

Good thing i bought a laptop a few months back as i can't really be without some kind of computer.

Looks like a cracked screen. The blot should be the liquid inside the display leaking out in that area. I'd bet the impact was right there.

Looks like Gigabyte are going to have me send in my board. I contacted them about my problem and they asked me to do a few things which i'd already done to no avail so they got me to email some of my details to returns.

Hoping they get the same response when testing the board and find it was the parts that was at fault so i can eventually get my PC back up and running with a new or even repaired board.

She was clearly teasing him.... That my friend, is a clear call to Graciano's attention.
Next time she does it, he should stop her with a kiss or something like that, And after that it's PARTY TIME!!

And regarding Arcade sticks... I think you're getting it wrong: it's men who go crazy when a girl can properly handle an arcade stick.

Well, yeah, I guess you cannot deny the sexy factor of a girl who can properly use an arcade stick... and then there's also that whole phallic symbol thing. But somehow, arcade sticks seem to be found sexy by geek girls down here. Why, I don't know exactly. It could also be a symbolic thing. Who knows.

Just a random rant of mine................:

Canadian banks are so afraid of the stupid client stealing money from them. They are afraid enough not to allow them to overdraft their account without an outstanding credit history over many years. This said, you're fucked if you open up a new account, there's no way you can pay your bills on the 29th if you haven't got enough funds, even though your paycheck arrives on the 1st.

With such strict secruity measures, it seems like Canadian banks (or American in general? I don't know) are leaders in terms of safety and want to prevent any kind of fraud.

But then again, I can do bank transfers without any kind of further verification once I logged in. For instance, I could just steal a card if I knew that guy's 6-12digit login code and transfer all his/her money to my account.

Let's compare this system to the one we use in Germany :p

Once you log in your online banking account, everything you want to do with your money requires a the entry of 6-digit transaction authentication number (TAN), generated by a small calculator-like device that had been registered for your account. A flickering code appears on the screen that can decrypted by the device's sensors to turn it into a number that you then have to enter in order to get the transaction done. Somebody stole my card? And my login code? But he doesn't have the chipTAN device (which is usually stored at home)? No problem.

AND we can overdraft our accounts.

So my question is: What is the continent again that has so much trouble with debt problems?

Just a random rant, I love to live here, but that just pisses me off!

What bank? I know with Vancity I can transfer to any other Vancity account easy peasy, I think RBC was the same (suck as they do)

I've never had an overdraft, but I know my British bank (when I had one) offered me one as soon as I hit 18, while it's never come up here. Always offering me credit cards though, despite me having 2.

Remember that Paul Martin didn't deregulate the banks as much as other world financial leaders. I'm not sure if it's related to your overdraft, but it's certainly part of the reason why Canada is less in the shitter than other countries.

Well, back in Europe (or Germany respectively) your overdraft limit was set by your monthly salary. Usually it could hit something like 50% of your salary, so if you earn 5000 EUR you can overdraft your account up to -2500 EUR and of course you'd have to pay interest, but at least it was possible. Here in Canada you're just screwed once you hit $0 o_O

Anyways, that's just a minor rant. Banks that this applies to are CIBC and TD Canada Trust, but it's not that bad. I've got a decent amount of my savings on my accounts so I'll never have difficulties paying. It just seems so hypocrite to me - on the one hand everything is supposed to be so extremely safe & secure that you can't even overdraft your account with $1, but on the other hand online-banking is totally ghetto.

So, yesterday I was doing some shopping (since this is my week off before I start my new job), and I ended up un a place with a chinese store.
Chinese stores in uruguay basically sell decorative stuff and typical asian decor (with a chinese flavor of course...).
So anyways, I was just passing by when I saw that among a sea of Naruto Shippuden figurines, there was a group of Super Mario figures. Standing out, two figures of Mario and Luigi, standing 15 cm tall...
I had to have them right then and there. You dont come across such things much here in Uruguay.
Anyways, I entered the shop and of course the lady was also the owner, and was speaking with a thick chinese accent.
She must have needed to talk because she was conversing about hair and hair products with another customer, and when my turn came she started talking about anime and katanas, showing me more products from the store...
Sadly, I couldn't spend too much money so I had to leave with Mario and Luigi only.
But the conversation was funny and sorta weird

I got a little Mario figurine from Barnes and Noble the other day. It was pretty high quality, and it came with a little clear box with a stand that says "Mario" (which I promptly put in my closet, but it's still nice to have). A little overpriced at $10, but not too bad.

K-Panggg: your sig is hypnotizing. And yes, I know what it's from.

Care to elaborate? This is an unmoderated thread after all so you should be able to say your piece without fear of reprisal or rebuttal from staff. If you've a gripe you should air it, as the saying goes a problem shared is a problem halved
