it really seems like since my mum passed I've become less ''for myself'' and care about other people now.

It was a good few years ago. It seems I've matured more from events rather than age. After my grandad passed I buckled down and did well in my SATS. Then just recently I managed to easily pass Maths GCSE and I'm now taking higher. Something which a few months ago seemed completely weird to me.

I am very sorry for your loss.
And I totally understand you... When someone you love is sick or suffering, the natural instinct for many people is to forget about themselves and give the person in need all their attention.-

I know that was my case when my dad was sick, and it also happened to me that while he was in the hospital I had some college finals.
He specifically asked me to go and nail them, and so I did... I really didn't care much about how good I was at the finals, I just wanted to pass...
Seems that it was a good thing, because not caring about grades made me less nervous and my grades were higher than ever

Running on a shitty AMD 1.1 Duron system at the moment. Struggling to run XP. Did however find a free 98 second edition cd key on the back of the motherboard along with

    CCL COMPUTERS
    16/11/01
    3YR C+RT WARRANTY

    - CJ.

So will harvest the CD Key. Get a 98 CD Torrented and get it reformatted. Really like seeing messages from the original builder.

Once when I was a sophomore in high school taking the Cisco CCNA class, my computer died on me early in class one day (that classroom got the WORST computers in the whole school because all the nerdy kids were in there and could easily deal with the junk). I knew the teacher pretty well by then, and took it upon myself to get it up and running by the end of class (diagnosed that the HD physically crashed, got a new one from the shelf and popped it in and got XP back up and running before the bell).

I left a little slip of paper (part of a sticky note) in the computer before I sealed it back up. "HAVE FUN FIXING ME AGAIN. -ALEC, MARCH 2005"

Two years later a random (well, somewhat random, I ended up being good friends him) younger kid came up to me in the hallway and handed me the little slip of paper. "Did you write this?"
    Yes, yes I did!
I've kept it in my wallet ever since.

I wish my teachers were that relaxed. One flipped when I unplugged the Power cable because it crashed and wouldn't reboot otherwise.

Well, it was a Cisco networking class, not typing or a computer lab day for US History. THOSE teachers would flip shit if they saw you touching anything that wasn't the keyboard or mouse.

Has anybody else noticed an increase in website downtime recently? Seems closer we get to IPv6 more and more websites are going down.

Trailer for a new iPhone App I'm making. Crazy idea, cheap iMovie effects. I'm having a lot of fun doing it though.

Nothing to do with my CS port by the way, this is a totally different project.

They dropped a bomb on Mexico in the last episode. More than just their normal stabs at France, etc - they kept rolling with it for a good minute.

I didn't understand half the shit they were saying, and I live a lot closer to Mexico than them. Are there stereotypes that I have somehow missed?
The weird thing is that they seem to, normally, have a lot of excess footage from the news segment (that is cut-out, and sometimes uploaded to the Top Gear site for our entertainment). They could have easily said to themselves, "maybe we shouldn't put this on the show..." but instead kept it in, which was obviously not a complete accident. Perhaps they didn't realize how offensive they were being?

I was definitely disappointed in them, and wondered what you would say about it, Xerdo. I have never heard someone say such things about your country and your people before, just the usual illegal immigration racism from some southern-USA-cultured idiots around here.

I mean, making fun of stereotypes is fun if done with class. I'd have laughed at the "man, you wake up and realise you're still mexican" joke if it had been part of a different set of jokes.

    But this was hateful.

    Basically:
    Man, Fuck Top Gear.

Then again, I'll probably take a nap today before I go to work.
