I agree with johnny about the Gran Turismo HD Install Disc, this Gran turismo has now been removed from UK (dunno about others) PSN store....you can only download it if you have it in your download list before a certain date now. What about Zone of the Enders HD collection?
i dont really follow ps3 much ever since couple years back but there's something in my shelf that i think might become more or less uncommon to see simply because of what it is. for those who don't know, this is the DLC of disgaea 3 sold separately as a disk. really? who buys DLC on a disk ? Granted it wasnt very expensive, but it's still expensive compared to what it was in digital format. The disk is also useless as is as it contains nothing but the DLC itself and requires the game to be of any use. haven't seen such disk for other games either, and i believe this practice isn't all that common. do correct me if im wrong though.
Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection. It's going for a decent amount now. Collector's Editions will definitely become rare and expensive.
I expect digital games to be the rarest, unless piracy makes them common place so games like the mentioned Gran Turismo HD, GTI Club PSN and Turtle in Time re-shelled, even more so if they were pulled early on in the console life. You may well find people sell patches as well, as a large number of DLC content does work with the patches and once the servers get shut down they will be impossible to obtain legally. What I think will sell for lots of money is a complete version of the game that comes with the DLC and patches on disc, so stuff like Ultra Street Fighter 4, Dragon Age: Ultimate Edition, Fallout 3; Game of the year. I think those versions will end up selling for a fortune in years to come as the DLC will be all most impossible to obtain otherwise. Certainly from both a gamer and collector point of view they will be very desirable, to have the complete game with all the DLC on one or more discs.
I agree with you. Games from the PSN will definetly become the rarest. But the problem is, that most people don't know about such games and you can't just buy them of ebay. Since the PS3 modding scene is not very good, I don't expect many games being made available. I can't say if these rare PSN games will become sought after or not. Probably only serious collectors and gamers know about games, that have been taken of the PSN.
GTA V Collector's Edition and GTA IV Special Edition, got both of them. (unless it's about PS3 exclusives)
Calling it now, like most Digimon games; Digimon All Star Area is going to be hard to get in the future.
These Append Discs are not that rare. You can get these cheap on ebay atm, there is also one for Disgaea 4. Anyway these could be rare and expensive in the future just because Disgaea is popular and good RPG.
In the uk i would say 3D Dot Game Heroes, No More Heroes: Paradise which i waited for it to get cheaper and ithink it had a small print because i never saw it again
I have a feeling the PS3 modding community will get better once Sony stops arresting/suing people who mod the system. Though on a similar note, I think a lot of physical versions of digital games (like the DC Collection, Capcom Digital Collection, Midway Arcade, Ducktales, etc) will get more valuable, if not necessarily more rare, as time goes on.
I hunted for this for a year while I was living in Japan. I was trying to find it at a bargain price but never did. I think the lowest I ever saw was around 3400 yen (about $34 US) for a used copy. By that time, they already announced the Director's Cut version, so I lost interest in trying to get it. Maybe I'll regret not getting it someday, haha.
River City: Super Sports Challenge All Stars Special (Asia English version) Appeared and disappeared of Play-Asia really quick. Gladly I got my copy before getting sold out.
