    Hi guys

    I would like to use the Rebuild GDI tools to try and shrink down some games, bu the link on the front page isn't working. Does anyone have the most up to date version? also, is there a compatability list? or anyone know of any games that shouldn't be used with this tool? and if there is a way to automate this rather than doing 1 by 1?

    Familyguy, you say you working on a new update to your tool that might make this process better?

    In my experience you get better compatability using untouched GDI's. Some games played fine when I unpacked them and rebuilt with GDI tools but others such as Dragonriders: Chronicles of Pern would boot, however experience unplayable yet humorous bugs. There was also one, I forgot which, that gave a black screen after editing. I've had no problems editing the game name with a hex editor but other than that leave them be.

    Hi

    I'm having issues with GdMenu 0.6
    The menu loads fine and shows the list of games, but when I select a game, it shows the logo and then jumps to the 'play' 'file' 'music' 'settings' menu. when I choose play, it gives me the error "please insert game disc"
    I'm using the 5.13 firmware and the gdemu works well without the gdmenu
    I'm wondering if anyone has a gdmenu 0.5.2 to see if the issue happens only with 0.6 It's the first time I try to use gdmenu btw
    thanks in advance for the help!

    I'm using trurip images. I've tried using sandisk and kingston sd cards. Things work just fine when I don't use GdMenu
    I tried using the SD Maker, and also manually adding gdmenu, in both instances, gdmenu boots, shows the proper games with the image and infor, but doesn't boot to the chosen game, instead it goes to the system menu. Once it is in system menu, the disc swapper button on gdemu won't work.

    the folders are properly named
    gdmenu is on the 01 folder
    the gdemu.ini file is in the root file
    the sd card was formatted as fat32

    in essence, things work just fine with the cards I've tried as long as I don't use gdmenu. Once I start using gdmenu, then the games won't boot.

    what I find weird is that it was fine without gdmenu, so I'm assuming the issue is not due to the .gdi images (they're straight from trurip), or the sd cards

    does anyone have a gdmenu 0.52 file? I would like to test that version. However the download link is no longer valid for 0.52

    Ok, I can report that gdmenu 0.5.2 works just fine, so I think there is a bug on gdmenu 0.6 that apparently doesn't affect that many users (as I haven't seen anyone reporting it besides me) and prevents gdmenu from launching the games. hopefuly neuroacid sees this post.

    Try .6 again. I noticed whenever I used SD Card Maker to build the list.ini but added more games and rebuilt the list. I'd have to place a fresh copy of Gdmenu in 00 folder or the games wouldn't load.

    I have been following this thread for some time but just registered today. Thanks all for the amazing tips : )
    @DrZhark,
    I had the exact same issue and in my case, I simply needed to change the GDEMU.ini file after uploading games with the SD Card Maker.
    These are my current personal settings:

    open_time = 500
    detect_time = 250
    reset_goto = 1

    Hope this helps.

    DrZhark's issue is entirely different, basically his console has an uncommon bootROM (1.01c) which is not supported at the moment, but it should be simple enough to implement anyway.

    Regarding your issue, were you also unable to boot anything at all from GDmenu before changing the timers?
    Since increasing them appears to have "fixed" it for you, then the issue probably lies somewhere else, either the SD card itself or bad contact between the PSU and board is the culprit here (the latter is more likely).

    @neuroacid,
    Oh I see. Thanks for the clarification and also congrats on the amazing software you created.

    My issue was the DC was skipping the GDmenu all together and jumping straight to the DC OS.
    Whenever I tried to to hit "play", I would get the message there was no CD inserted.
    I removed the SD card, rebuilt the games+menu using the SD card maker and changed the timers.
    I am running version 0.6 of GDmenu ever since without any problems now.

    Also for those interested, I have the Lexar Platinum II 300x 32 GB SDHC and it is working fine with my GDemu.

    So far so good with the Lexar 64GB LSDMI64GB1NL300A (guiformat 64k cluster)

    I've tested multiple games and looped the Crazy Taxi demo for several hours without issue. Write speeds are really slow however ~10MB/s. Now to silence that pesky fan!
