Wonder if this is someone who saw the MJR video and ran to ebay to throw their money at whatever they were "told" to be interested in :p I mean, we do know of the James & Mike effect.

Just to hedge my bets, I sent you a PM that I'm sure is among many.

If I remember correct this disc was listed before the video was released... I also think that it is relisted and it didn't sell for the higher buy-it-now price before... (but I cold confuse that with another listing )

Do we know what's in the blue disk yet?
I'd love one if you sell them!

This hit the Facebook news sidebar. Of course, I didn't read the link from there, I came here for the real scoop because everyone knows Assembler is the real go-to place ;)

Loved the concept behind the 64DD shame it came a little late to the market! Before the N64 even came out though they were pushing the 64DD idea. I would have loved it if Nintendo revised the console and created something that was hybrid of the two.

Thanks MJR for sharing this; looking forward to discovering what (if anything) is on the disk and seeing the IPL dump.

By the way, a Partner cart won't allow this to boot. What is required is well documented as a dev N64DD.

    To sum it all up:
To dump the US IPL ROM: 64drive is required, and could use 64DD IPL Dumper that I made (and follow the screen's instructions), OR
with the latest 64drive firmware, do this:
    Code:
    64drive_usb.exe -x -d ipl.n64 1 0x6000000 0x400000
    To dump a blue disk:
    - 64DD development drive is required.
    - 64drive is required, (or I guess you could own the whole devkit and use leowrite's read mode, but that's just too expensive for one disk).
I made 64DD Disk Dumper which can be used to dump any kind of disks. But it only works on the 64drive.
Dumping shouldn't take very long if the disk actually has something. We could also analyze what is in there pretty easily.

    To boot a blue disk:
If you get a 64DD dev drive, and any kind of flashcart, you could try to boot IPL4ROM to boot the disk. It's actually what the Partner-N64 is for, but a flashcart can replace it (and a DISK cartridge may also be required if the game uses the IPL ROM's fonts and sounds).

However, I actually prefer another way to check a disk's contents, I'm more of a fan of preserving data as is, since booting the disk may mess with saved data in there and then feel free to do whatever you want with it like booting it, so here's my suggestion if you wanna see a blue disk's contents:
Use 64DD Disk Viewer. It's supposed to work on every flashcart, and I would suggest to read LBA 2, 14 and 24.
Feel free to post screenshots of those LBAs if you actually use the Disk Viewer, and if the disk doesn't throw any errors, because that may mean it has nothing. But if those LBAs doesn't all show zeroes, then it may be very interesting. I forgot if EverDrive 64 has particular problems with this homebrew, but I don't think so...

What kind of box did they come in? I don't know why, but that piqued my curiosity.

I'm rather surprised. 64DD kits are extremely rare and expensive and MetalJesusRocks has demonstrated his knowledge of the 64DD itself is rather limited.

And he still needs a 64Drive to get anywhere. I already offered but time is running out for my trip to Washington. I'm less inclined to believe any of this is about preservation of the console and disc and more about getting YouTube views and ad money.

Considering I know what's going on I can tell you that it's not. And don't worry about the 64drive. ;)

    I hope so.

Last I heard he was either ignoring or rebuffing offers, mine included.
