Worked just fine, granted I won't see a speed increase on the DC but the transfer on the PC to the DC is like 2-5 seconds for a full game. Can't beat that. :)

So I installed the door latch. However I really don't want to have to use it all the time so I installed a button on the case as well. However when I press the button nothing happens. I assume I can't do both? Would there be a way to do both? Already drilled a hole in the case, looks pretty good. :)

    Thanks!

You would need a normally closed button and wire it in series with the latch button. So one side of the latch button needs to be bent away from the usbgdrom board and a wire goes from that to your front button and then a wire from the other side of the front button back to where the latch button would have soldered to the usbgdrom. That would enable using both the latch and the button.

K, the button I have is off until you press it. Does that mean this would no-go?

If it's a no-go, I need to find one that is on until pressed off, right? Wonder if I can modify my button to reverse itself.

Correct you need a normally closed button (on when not pressed)

On his website, it's written that a new firmware update is coming very soon. ^_^
I hope it will fix the D2 issue.

I have played a few hours of my Dreamcast and showcased it on my stream on Twitch. It ran smooth and no heat. I have yet to do my custom paint job, but the internals are ready to go.

Hey folks! I'm in the process of beta testing new firmware. Please let me know of any troubles you've had with dc games so I can test them and make sure they are working.

I haven't tested bleem yet, not even with the previous firmware. Did Bleem not load at all or was it the Playstation Iso that wasnt loading?

I'll have to do more testing tonight

I have tested the new firmware and here are the changes:-

    - implemented auto-launch GDI Images
    - speed increased +10%
    - "D2 Image Swap" working correct

D2 swaps now work again and the auto-launch "enabled with Y" boots whaever is in the folder when selected with "A". Basically, no more manually selecting the GDI/CDI.

Before anyone asks. No, I wont be sharing/linking to the new firmware, as it will be released officially very soon.

Also Sega Swirl now works. Unable to get bleem working still

Also D2 Crashes during the cut scene before disc swap for me. Are you using a gdi or cdi?

Downloaded new GDI of D2 and now everything works including swap :)

I am having one strange issue. Is anyone else here able to use more than one usb thumb drive with their usb gdrom?

I have two sandisk usb thumb drives one is 128GB and the other is 16GB. The 128GB works and the 16GB doesnt. They are both FAT32 formatted and both the exact same brand.

Or does 16gig drives just not work?
It just stalls out on sega logo when loading games. But 128 one works fine on the same games

I use a 500GB laptop hard drive in a "Inatek" enclosure for my setup and it works flawlessly. Some hdd drives, USB thumb's, and enclosures don't work well it, so that will be the issue.

What was up with Sega Swirl before?

Bleem has never worked I don't think, yet I never used it.

Sega Swirl would freeze at the Licensed by Sega Screen but he's fixed that.

PBA Bowling also still doesn't work, as well as bleem
in PBA Bowling 2001 it will load but when you try to start a game it crashes at the loading screen.
For bleem it will show the legal info, then when you hit start it remains a black screen.

    PBA Tour Bowling 2001. Wasn't that a un-released title?

Yep it was. The only reason I really even want to play it is because the online functions have been restored and its part of DC-talks game night rotation.

Fixed my other USB stick, just needed to be set to 64k Cluster size when formatting to FAT32 to get it to work

I have noticed that the usb port seem finicky.
If I move a little bit (gently) the usb cord while playing a game, the game stop.
Am I the only one having this issue ?

Well... it's not a big deal obviously, but kinda need to be more careful to not move the console when playing...
