users experiencing "problems" with delivery of items bought from gavroche...

so guys i spoke this week with gavroche via irc and dont know how many saw his video if you havent seen it send me a pm and we get clean on that

the other thing is i decided to fly over to london in september since i couldnt find the time in april like i planned earlier this year (hopefully tickets get cheaper cause of the attack and not more expensive cause the airlines cancel their last minute flights)

i plan to spend 3-4 days there as a little holiday and then want to send my stuff back via ups or whatever, if any of you want maybe that i send there stuff also out they should contact me so we work something out

 

zappenduster: Might you please be able to provide IRC contact information. My deal with hime involved both cash and trade and I need to see the true state of the machine which I sent him. I am unable to cantact him through any methods I already have.

Both guys need stuff collecting and sending on.

He still lives in Hertfordshire and is still skint hence why nothing has been sent out, but he does want it moved and if anyone can collect it would be most appreciated.

...I privately contacted all those that I know were directly affected several days ago, they know the latest picture and as Zappenduster can no doubt confirm things are at last moving in the right direction.

The issue here is that its not too close to me and i will have to get one of my friends to drive with me up there.

Im happy to pick up as much as people want and ship it on to anyone. However if you can get him to meet me in london with all the stuff that would make my life alot easier.

 

There's around 20 game discs and an XB system on my end, it's not a bunch of large items. It should all fit in one box. Ideally I'd send you a list of the exact items, you'd make sure they're all there, pack them up and send me a shipping quote, and I'd Paypal (assuming you use it as well) the money right away.

I have no idea if he'd be able to meet you in London and I have no contact information for him unfortunately. Perhaps oldengineer can provide an answer to that question?

Anyone who WOULD want something to be picked up PM me with the items you would want. Also if gav doesnt at least meet me closer in london i would have to ask that you all collectively pay for fuel, abit of dosh for my friend helping and the mac d's for the day that we go out to him.

Other then that we would most likely pick all the stuff up in a couple of weeks and mail it all out. So pm so i can see if its worth me sorting this out.

this reminds me of why I always try to pay with a credit card on all large purchases so they will cover my ass if the ripper never sends out his end.

I spoke with Gavroche this morning via IRC. To his credit he is going to try and make amends. He gave me current contact information. I sugest anyone else who has not yet done so to contact him in IRC as well.

 

try asking for refund after 6months or when the buisness got bancruptcy...

 

that is the beauty of it- you contact your credit card company and ask them to remove the charges from your card because for failure to receive what you paid for.

most major credit cards (visa, mastercard) will refund you when it is blatently obvious that you never got what you paid for.

Oh, and dont ever wait six months, if 1 month goes by and you havent heard anything from your seller after trying to contact him, then go ahead and contact your credit card company and ask them to reverse the charges. I *think* there is a limit on the time you have to take action(90 days?) with your cred card company to reverse the charges..

It looks to me like the seller here is a professional crook, I doubt any of you will receive anything at this point.

I would suggest that all of you work together to file a class action claim with his local authorites.

It sounds like he defrauded his buyers out of thousands of dollars, possibly tens of thousands of dollars (all total) and if you work together to try to put pressure on his local authorities to take action it would be hard for them to ignore theft of that magnitude. that is probably your best bet to get any kind of resolution to this.

The first step would be to get an itemized list of EVERYTHING that was paid for and what was purchased and never delivered with the names and the contact information of all the buyers, dates and methods of payment, and reporting that to his local police.

While it is uncommon, people can and do go to jail for fraud, and it is usually in cases of mass fraud involving large amounts of theft.

The story about how he filed for bankruptcy and owes hundreds of thousands of dollars and has no money to ship your packages out is almost certainly a total lie to buy him some time and get his angry buyers off his case.

edit: even if he doesnt have your money or merchandise, it is possible that he can see justice and would have to go to prison over this.
