The Mandarake site for their find is still available online though at http://www.mandarake.co.jp/information/2005/02/11/nkn01/index.html Maybe they confirmed the sale on their website too, but I'm too lazy looking for it now. When I have the time I'll give it a try though...
I don't know about you guys, but I am still interested about this VK gold cart @Jamtex Any chance you could go there again and take a photo before getting busted?
cool..didn't know about a madarake in kokura. adress? will visit when i'm down there for business next time^^
You go to Kokura? We're talking Kokura in Kita Kyushu you know. Well, the address won't do you much good as you know in Japan so instructions on how to get there are much easier. I'll find a map of Kokura Station area I'll draw a guide for you if it is the Kita kyushu Kokura you go to. Yakumo
Or www.mapfan.com (my prefered one as it has a better routemap). I got busy so I never had a chance to go to nakano again and as I am now in Brisbane, Australia it's unlikely I will get to go again for a long time.
I hope this is not gonna remain as net myth then :/ BTW I just went to the local games store today and found an alpha version of Thunder Force IV in which the player controlled not a ship but a dinosaur with dreadlocks. It was a silver cartridge and actually running on the Amstrad GX4000. Unfortunately I wasn't allowed to take any photos and I will never ever be able to go there again. But it was really awesome!! :110:;-)
we have a lot of customers in kyûshu as well, so from time to time i have to go there for some on-site work etc. with stays @OT: i searched now quite a bit on the net for some possible talks about a Vampire Killer Gold cart. but there's not even one single thing to be found. if this really is a true thing, it probably must be one of the uber rarest thing ever created in history of video gaming. unfortunately, in short i can't find some time to check it out in the galaxy store by my self.
maybe its just a regular VK cart spraypainted gold and thats the reason they dont want to create somekind of false hype around it? (or sell it for that matter).
Hello, I'm a new guy to post on the forums but I have hanged here for a some time. Friend of mine visited in Japan just a few days and here is one interesting photo which he took: As you can see on the top of the picture there is a small capture of the golden Vampire Killer cartidge. I would really like to know the history of the cartidge but this photo proves that there really is one.
