Very true, I don't see the point either.. it would need really strong AA surely...

The way the Vita analog sticks are, it just looks as unreliable as the one on the PSP..

What's the point of 3G in a handheld gaming device anyway?? People who have a portable gaming device have a phone.. The vita isn't a phone why do you need 3G?! You'd need a plan and a sim WHY WHAT WHY!? :banghead:

Moreover they're so small! They are very unconfortable for people with big thumbs (that means most of the men on this planet).
Why did Sony made them that way

So you can play online, anywhere. I live in an area where my landline is awfully slow and the only way I can game online (Mostly XBL) is via 3G networks so Vita having 3G is a blessing for me.

Alright, mates - Preorders are now available in Mexico - and I was wrong about the price.

I had speculated it'd be around 9,999 pesos. It's 6500 pesos from Telmex (the phone company). They add around 250 pesos to your phone bill for a whole bunch of months (it adds up to like 8,000 pesos this way).

Still fucking expensive, but not as horrendously as I'd thought before.

This being said, I'd rather give myself a vasectomy with a plastic spoon than give Telmex any of my money, and even more so for such an overpriced item.

Is Telmex that bad in Mexico? I have it installed here in Argentina, it works extremely well (I have it since 2009, it only crashed twice, and even then it was only for a couple of hours), they are the only ISP that offers Fiber-Optic internet connection.

The worst thing about Telmex is the criminal who owns it, Carlos Slim Helú.

Nonsense, only the DC deserves to have PowerVR.

    Trolling over.

    Vita a Flop

Not surprised by this...Sony sat on their collective asses too long with the PSP...and this is the best they can do?..They should have learned from Sega's mistake...

3G plans have such small data allowance (in Australia at least), I still believe it's such a stupid thing to have in a gaming device that can't make calls..

If the PSVita ever does get hacked I'm sure it will be turned into a phone.. I believe the PSVita has a mic

    Quoted for truth.

Also, feder, if it's anything like the Telmex I know, the moment your connection truly fails, you'll be without service for weeks, caught in customer-service hell, talking to machines and retards who will do anything to shut you up, other than reconnect your Internet or actually do their work.

After that, they'll refund you 1 or 2 pesos per lost day.

Fuck Telmex. Fuck them SO much.

Gameplanet and Gamers have it for 500 pesos less. It's 6000 for the bundle with Wi-Fi, Mod Nation Racers, 4 Gig card and a carrying case. Asked on twitter to the stores and Sony for the core unit only, no one knows yet when or if the core sku will be offered here.

6000 is decent enough for a bundle, but the core unit should be way cheaper.

Sounds pretty much like Telefonica Argentina, I assume Telmex has the ISP/Phone monopoly in Mexico.

So now that they have the new launch day 3G bundle has anyone changed their preorder? Since it comes with an 8GB memory card and a $10 PSN game I thought it was a decent deal. I don't plan on regularly using the 3G service, but I think it'll be nice to at least have the option in case I go on vacation and my phone's (regional carrier) 3G service doesn't work.

I'm staying with the current preorder because I dont need 3G and well... for a few bucks more I get the same deal without the:

Choice is up to you though... I got the wifi + 4gb card + wipeout for the same price and for $10 more could get the 8gb card... just saying...

A price drop would be cool but I dont see that happening for at least 6 months when quadARMs are more common

Asus announced a Tegra3 tablet for $250, same as the PSV

Told you all prices of these phone components were plummeting, you have 20 different suppliers just for the CPU, plenty of competition out there fighting for the same market.
