Was the Xbox originally going to be an 'X' box?

It may, or it may not. Who knows with movie tie-ins. Some characters do seems to be robots, but Ive never really sat down and watched AI, though its on my list now.

Notice the C button, rather then X or Y

Just non-finalized controller, its from December of 2000, so probably early in the Alpha program, or early enough, to where they were probably still using the hammerhead controller.

    (Still processing for higher quality)

    Another character, another video.

Theres no need to yet, Ive got the files off of it anyway, Im just curious if they had the ability to hide files anywhere else on the disk (though I guess if you mean trying to find old files, but no application would recognize the file system Id wager). The important stuff is safe anyway

Yay editing is back : Simpsons video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVcvdIYZ44k

    Woot!! great job Borman

    Awesome!!!

This is a later revision of dashboard than what was found lurking on my old Alpha unit.

I'll post images for comparison if you wish?

I am really baffled by AI though as it's nothing like the film at all. :noooo:

Feel free :p More alpha goodness is good.

I agree with that, I'm enjoying this thread wayy too much! :katamari:

So Xbox Watson lets me skip some errors anddddd.....

Also, a special thanks to a member here for hooking me up with an old SDK with the file required to back up the data (though not the whole harddrive yet, but thats okay). If he wants to be known, feel free, just dont want you being bugged with PMs ;)

Xbox Explorer in this version doesnt work with the old December 00 dash though, but hopefully I can get my hands on some 'newer' stuff that it will work with, so I can forgo using the actual harddrive and use something a bit less meaningful :p

Keep up the good work. Got some great stuff here :love2:

    More notable finds:
A.I. The Circuit : The second character that freezes A.I. is due to some sort of Graphical Hardware error that cant be skipped. However, there is some seemingly old data, a backup of sorts, with 8 of the 10 characters and some AI, so Im hoping that character can be replaced with the old data. Will give it a shot some time. Also, the folder that the game is in is called HC1. The olderdata is in a folder called Hairclub. I dont know if that is a reference to anything in the movie, a codename, or what, but its kind of funny I guess. There is also another XBE, but I cannot get it to show up in the launcher. Using Xbox Watson I can skip past errors that were causing the game not to load at times though

Samples Folder was found on the harddrive, but only some data is still in them, no XBE

Dark Summit : I can get the normal, non debug build to start to load, but there are a ton of errors. When I have time, I will see if I can skip past them all or not. Also, strangely enough, there are 3 .exe files in the folder, each of which (well, the two I tried) start to load the game in Windows, but error due to missing libraries which Ill attempt to find.

Damn edit button being gone, can we switch that to the 360 forum please Assembler? :)

A.I. also has 12 arena folders, hoping that means 12 levels to discover, along with a smaller file which I dont believe is the whole thing. 5 arenas exist in the old hairclub folder..

Sounds good to me, AI looks interesting but very generic from what I have seen so far :( Let us know how the progress goes :)

Possible to run data recovery on the drive?

Also, I got some other stages to load, unfortunately the artists apparently didnt finish lighting the arenas
