damnit they should of just used the japanese cover, thats what they did for the first, and belive me that sold on oddness as well.
Eh, I think the second fits it with the first just fine. Moreso than the photo used on the JPN version of Katamari 2. Gimmie the art over the photo any day. -hl718
After reading such positive things about Katamari Damacy, it was deeply insulting that Sony decided against releasing the game in Europe. Now they've finally done something about this, it's even more of an insult to see that the box art can be allowed to look so... well... amateurish! To me, the cover for We Love Katamari looks brilliant in its Japanese form, and I have yet to see the PAL version - though how slapping EA's corporate crap over the top will help remains to be seen. Besides, you'd never tell that ICO was such a brilliant game from its UK box art!
This thread is riveting. What a great idea, lets make a thread about the box art of a single game. It's fun reading basically the same comments over and over again. What an ingenious idea. Who ever came up with this idea is AWESOME! BTW, I like that box art. It's great. I will buy that game just for the box art. Woo hoo for box art. Give it three cheers. Hip Hip Hurrah! This is a great day indeed.
Why are EA releasing it in Europe? I thought SCEE released Namco PS2 games over here, or has it changed now? To be honest, the last Namco game I bought was Tekken 3 ^_^ Things might have better for us if Namco bothered their asses publishing their own games in Europe - if you look at their European website it's pretty much strictly for arcade game sales.
Am I the only one who thinks the box art is "okay"? It could have been better, but it could have been far worse.
I don't like it but I've seen far worse. Then again, I just came from printing some fliers, from a place that prints amateur mexican wrestling ads, and local political campaign stationery... so my "bad taste" meter might be a bit insensitive. Sometimes companies try to "americanize" things... and they wind up just changing them. We have good taste in this continent too, dammit!
