The Talon is the Eclipse, its just an rebadged car like they used from the 60s to 90s in american manufactures cars, EX: an 80s Chevy might be rebadged to be sold as an Cadillac, Buick, Oldsmobile and Pontiac. Eagle motors was an marque by Chrysler to sell rebadged Renaults and then sporty cars, all of them using European and Japanese engines as they were much more modern (SOHC and DOHC compared to the OHV), they also sold the Eclipse as the Plymouth Laser, but that was a sports oriented marque.
You'll get bored of it very quickly. Just buy the twin turbo, it's actually not that bad on fuel. Depending what you can afford to buy, the later models (1997.9-2002) RZ are the top of the range. Lots of RZ-S around which are NOT worth as much and muppets advertise them not knowing any better. I have a 2000 RZ myself, it'll be with me for life.
I was thinking about getting something earlier, around 1994. Anything more recent is quite expensive. I can't drive a twin turbo due to license restrictions.
I'm driving a 2011 mustang 5.0 that I purchased new back in 2010. I can't believe it's almost 5 years old already. Love it!
I had a 1994. If I were you, I would wait past the restrictions and then get a twin turbo. Things to note: The cars are old. Most owners are cheapskates and do not maintain them properly, let alone replace maintenance items that should be replaced considering their age - bushes etc. You'd need to ensure your mechanical inspection is 100% on point (hire someone!) - steering rack rebuilds are not cheap and most idiots on the road have smashed into a kerb at some point, compression test, cold start (check for smoke colour, could indicate blown seals etc.). A clean RZ will not be cheap A bucket will be A bucket generally is a bucket for good reason... The clean ones are raising in value, all over the world. Low km examples that are mint are getting more and more sought after. You'll find cheaper locally than anywhere else. Stay clear of certain "import yards" - just google them with bad reviews and you'll see why - lots of crashed/repaired cars ex. Japan that cost fuck all so they make a mint, and they have a habit of playing with the odometers. If they're not willing to provide you with the auction sheet/import certificate for the car - stay away, the car will 100% be dodgy. Any questions with Supras - feel free to hit me up, I have owned them since 2009 and my current one I do not plan on ever moving on. Australia's Supras facebook page is a good resource of info too.
I know this thread is asking about cars, but I thought I'd share a picture of my bike, too. This is my heavily modded 2008 XL1200N Sportster.
Take it out on some twisty roads or empty parking lots and you will love this car. They're like street legal go-karts.
This jalopy (1993 Mercury Capri aka Ford Capri) is what I drive for shits and giggles. I normally drive a '14 Dodge Charger which is pretty much the polar opposite.
Holy $h!t That's pretty rare. There's 2 in my area, one the same colour as yours and the other red. As for me, well here's my parking: The wife's car is the one we only see the corner, a reliable Mazda 6. Mines are always broken.
ohmygodohmygodohmyGOD it's finally done! Engine completely rebuilt from the ground up with some upgrades along the way. Just breaking her in now. [GALLERY=media, 1219]IMG_5497 by speedyink posted Jul 15, 2016 at 11:30 PM[/GALLERY]
