Yeah I'm fine mate, I've had no luck whatsoever lately. Even lost my job. The accident wasn't horrible, he just had his nose sticking out into a roundabout and kept rolling. He just hit my rear wheel as I was going past, and since I was traveling around 40kmph, the bumper grinded across. Not sure if the wheel was on a camber from the impact which has delayed the repair
Sucks man. Hope it gets sorted ok. The amount of idiotic careless drivers in the world seems to be on the increase, I'm in a constant state of panic that someone is going to total my car these days, especially seeing as I spend most of my time driving single track country roads due to flood repair and the consequent road closures. Interesting motoring fact for you all. People who buy brand new Range Rovers don't know that brakes exist. Anyway, no real interesting car developments in my world at the moment other than I discovered something called Cataclean, that although shouldn't work due to simple science, appears to have done so. I'm always dubious about these snake oil products but I took a gamble for £13 and pleased I did. My 1.7 engine just didn't have the power I thought it should and was kangarooing a lot on gear change. Having changed the oil (from 10w40 to 5w30...my car has to have very specific oil for some reason) coil pack, plugs, filters and after cleaning the MAF sensor I still wasn't figuring out the issue. So whacked some of this Cataclean stuff in as a last resort and hey presto, car is now a pocket rocket and smooth as silk. Many people have told me it's all psychological but my car didn't have the push you back in your seat acceleration until I used this stuff so it's done something. Either my injectors were clogged or the CAT/Lamda was blocked/dirty. Might not be a long term solution but will do for now. I also learned that my Puma is one of only 3 in existence with a sunroof. Anyhoo, pic after a giving it a clean: And a video which put a smile on my face
I use REDEX in my Subaru and it does clean up the engine resulting in a little more power. I don't use it all the time mind you, maybe one bottle every 3 or 4 months. I have to import it via Amazon too since they don't sell it here.
I've always been told it's just Paraffin. I think it was an episode of wheeler dealers I saw once that showed that this gave back the most life to a car after 10 years, above HT leads, sparks and filters etc. I've never noticed it making much of a difference in injection vehicles however. Works great on carbs though (and the amount of smoke it produces is quite fun).
That was Fifth Gear. It was after that show I started to use the stuff. It really was amazing that just REDEX gave the car more power than HT Leads, belts, spark plugs etc. It really is good stuff.
Holyshit, the ute on the freeway. :\ I never understand why people don't go in the lane/travel in the lane to where the turn off will be. I mean come on it won't be on the right... On the topic of dashcams, I'll be getting another one at some stage, ones of eBay are dogshit.
Yes there are some "special" people on there. Lol! Always either a/cyclists fault b/truckies fault c/cyclist driving a truck fault d/truckie riding a bike fault Yes that dude in the Navara is fkn nuts, got off with a slap on the wrist too (wealthy family if THAT had anything to do with it), wonder what he does for an encore.... Did you see the more recent motorbike vs P plater in the Nissan Pullstart? That was fkn nuts too. I have to get a dashcam too, don't drive much as I catch the train but recently have been going out to switchboard manufacturers for MCC testing. If dudes are in such a rush, leave earlier lol! I allow 45mins for a 30min trip, if I get there early who cares.
I am planning to buy an car this month, either RWD or AWD from the 90s. Wishlist: BMW 3 Series E36 Subaru Legacy First Generation. Chevrolet Omega (Aka: Opel and Vauxhall Omega, second generation here in Brazil is Holden Commodore badged) Mercedes C Class Toyota Crown (Rare, but for some reason there are a few 1991 units here, it was imported by Toyota and converted to LHD, west market test to replace Cressida?) Thunderbird
The only problems that I had with it was regarding the shield (my car is bullet-proof up to certain kinds of weapons).
I'm serious haha. It's a good investment here in Brazil. It has gotten a lot more popular in recent years. It's still expensive but the extra protection is worth it, specially if you drive a lot late at night.
