Wow. . . terribly sorry to hear that. I hope for the best outcome for your unfortunate circumstances. As you say, it's good you didn't get as fucked over as the skyline, but it's still bs all the same. Was gunna say how nice you kept that thing in my last post, too. Complete garbage.
Damn I'm really sorry to hear that Yakumo, I hope they manage to catch whoever did it, how proficient are the police in Japan?
They are pretty good. When I got back to my car there was a note on the windscreen left by the police. The car was also covered in silver dust which I found out was used to search for fingerprints. The attack happened between 8:30pm and 10pm as I had left my car at 8:30 and the Skyline owner (parked next to me) called the police at 10pm. I didn't actually get back to my car until 6am as I was out drinking and doing karaoke all night. Here's the list of things that need to be replaced thanks to Subaru. They were really cool and even gave my engine a mini service while they were checking for all the damages.
bloody hell, that's a writeup (aka: stack) couldn't help but frown a bit at the ambiguous name. (M.S.) :concern: (ignore) in any case, good luck to restitution and vehicle repairs. :friendly_wink:
lets be clear here, i meant ABSOLUTELY no disrespect at all! i've known a few mark smith and john smith (no, not the bevvy) and it's quite common in general! ... on that, is it wise showing even the slightest reference of your real identity online? i know i be obscuring a lot more of that invoice if it was mine... but it isn't and i'm not you! .. back on subject, any idea when she'll be back on the road? :friendly_wink: [edit] typo
That fucking sucks Mark. Animals everywhere it seems, I hope they catch the bastard! Did you at least enjoy the drinking and karaoke?
Yeah, it was a great night until I got back to the car. At first I was looking at the Skyline thinking "oh that poor sod" until I noticed police markings around it and the noticed my car was covered in silver powder from the finger printing forensics. That's when I was close enough to see the damage done to my car too.
No insurance? Hope they catch the guy - it's amazing to see how little it takes to write some cars off for insurance (at least over here) but the amount of awesome cars ending up as half-cuts in Japan ready for export is incredible (though it seems like a waste most often). Either way, makes me wonder what goes through someone's mind to go and do such a thing to any property be it private or public. I hate seeing busports and public transport vehicles smashed/trashed/tagged. Do these muppets not realise we're paying for it in taxes?? PS. The coppers there seem on the ball, I had my car windows smashed to be broken into and some stuff stolen out of it - I called the cops and after 5 or so tries finally got through to be told, "too bad, contact insurance we're not interested."
^^ that sums up UK policing in a breath! something to be said for 'alister crowleys' mantra...(a man is the LAW unto himself, do as you will.)
Because those fuckers don't pay taxes, and are deadbeats. Along with being unthankful. I seriously hate it, of course those who follow laws pay taxes and so on get fucked in the end. I see so many bus stops smashed here, and what do they do? Replace it with more glass. I mean come on, use a mesh or something. Also with the police, they actually won't care. It happened to a friend of mine too at the train station, apparently the CCTV cameras are fake.
No, not a single thing. The car is looking better now though. I've had it deep polished or more like I deep polished it which took away some of the lighter scratches. I also went over the effected areas with some very nice compound cream which helped remove othe marks but the big dents on the bonet are still there, the drivers window is still a mess and the rear spoiler is still deeply scratched with knife marks. I can't really aford to replace these parts and I will be buying a new car in 12 to 18 months anyway so...... But if they do catch the bastard I'll make sure he pays for every pannel damaged so the car will basically be new. Well, the body work will be
Damn, that sucks. What is wrong with some people? Gratuitously breaking other people's thing is something I abhor. Hope the bastard gets caught. I remember when I was a teen I had parked my bicycle on a tree and hanged out for the night with friends. When I came back some punks had destroyed my bicycle, it was completely trashed. I just abandoned it there, nothing could be salvaged. The bike was not worth a lot but I had to walk like 4 hours to get back home which was pretty far.
Unlucky. Yeah, people who just wreck stuff for no reason are pure shits. Sadly the world is full of arse holes like this. Here's what the drivers window looks like. This is probably the worst looking part now. The bonnet used to look silky smooth but now it's full of hairline scratches. At least many of the deeper scratches have been blended away and you can't see the darker ones in todays light. You can see them in person though. One of the deep scratches made with a blade on the rear spoiler. More damage The car is looking OK now but it did look brand new before it was damaged. No little dents all over the body, no scratches and no messed up windows. Oh well....
I thought about that but the guys at Subaru said it's the plastic coating on the glass which has been damaged. Any attempt to polish it off will just make it worse
I started keeping a photo blog of my 106 GTi if anyone is interested. It's on Facebook though but should be viewable by the public. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10152116125741444.1073741829.508826443&type=1&l=ba5d25d351
