What fan remake/projects are on your radar?

Yeah, the added detail definately makes it easier to see the ( lack of ) animation frames.

Zelda Ocarina of Time beta restoration

The goal of the project is to remake Ocarina of Time, had it used all the known elements found in its betas. I'm really excited for this one! Unfortunately the developers have given a estimate of a 2010 release.
Lets hope they pull through as it should be awesome.


Sonic Nexus

The ultimate sonic fangame. This ones gonna be completed. We have that promise from the team. Using talent from multiple canceled sonic fan games
we're getting an amalgamation of the best sonic has to offer. With regular updates from the team and a well managed website, these guys are definitely on top of things.

I've played Hurrican and it's REALLY good.

I am very interested in the Metroid 2 remake, also. There's also this Star Fox thing for FreeSpace called "Shadows of Lylat"

From the trailers, it looks like a REALLY good Metroid fangame. This is the fan project im most anticipating, along with Dark Biohazard ( already mentioned by C-Rocks)

Mother 1+2 (GBA) Translation: Only Mother 1 was translated, but the GBA version is better than the original Earthbound Zero in that it's actually an accessible game. I had to rely on save states ad emulator cheats to progress through certain parts of the game that were next to impossible. Mother 2 wasn't translated completely because among other things "the MOTHER 2 GBA port isn’t that great to begin with" in comparison to the original.



Mother 3 Translation

Policenauts Translation: I think it was one of the best games I've played in recent memory. Played it on a modded PSX and it worked perfectly.

Dead/Cancelled

Ocarina of Time Beta Restoration: Died around 2010 according to comments on it's Unseen64 project page. Unfortunate, but maybe Zelda URA, a similar project will finish.

Project S: This Sonic Xtreme inspired project was never finished. The team released materials. But, it seems the project never really took off. From what I understand between team constantly changing and development being in a secluded private forum it didn't go very well. Might've worked out better if the project was more public or involved with the hardcore Sonic Community.

I have heard and read Jack and shit about the Space Crusade remake since I posted the earlier message two years ago, So I think it has become vapourware since then.

 

What will be different in Ura Zelda and the one released by Nintendo?

 

thats just it ura zelda was never released

what did end up making it out was master quest witch all it is is dungeon rearrangement

what the restoration is doing is activating the beta elements like the unicorn fountain and unicorn fairy
and rebuilding elements based on ura zelda screen shots
