Don't watch or read this if you want to remain calm.

Today on the Japanese news they showed a video (edited) of a poor 2 year old that was ran down by a van in China. The fucker ran the poor child down. Stopped then continued running her over again with the back wheels leaving a trail of blood. This is where is gets even more fucked up and I mean so fucked up you won't believe it!

People pass by and do NOTHING. NOTHING at all. Are these BASTARDS ever human? What the FUCK is wrong with these people? We all know the Chinese have no human rights but WTF! It's gets worse. Another bastard runs the girl over AGAIN yet nobody does a fucking thing to help her.

Finally the 19th person to pass, a 58 year old woman moves the child aside. She was taken to a hospital with life threatening injuries. It's unlikely she'll survive.

The Japanese news interview a few Chinese who said it was terrible what happened while other bastards said that the people who walked by did nothing wrong. Honestly, the world should boycott these monsters. They aren't the same as us. Not at all.

    Yakumo

EDIT: The girl died from brain injuries :crying: The Police have detained both drivers of the vans but in my opinion they should detain ever bastard that just walked by.

EDIT2: Video removed because of minors using this site. This is not something they should see on a gaming forum.

I strongly advise against watching the video! That is the most disgusting thing I have ever seen. Seeing things like this leaves me with a double Scotch at 2 a.m., asking myself if there is still hope for humankind.

While rarely as extreme elsewhere, the lack of being a "good citizen" happens everywhere at this point. I believe China has it on the books where you can be help responsible to damages while helping, or you may be accused of the accident in the first place, so its no wonder people are scared there.

There was a case recently in the USA where people received burns saving someones life by pulling them out of a car, and are now suing the person they saved.

People have become afraid to help, or otherwise thing "Someone else will get it." It's a common phenomenon really. Called diffusion of responsibility : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diffusion_of_responsibility

People don't pull over when they see a car on the side of the road anymore, they think "Oh, they must have a cell phone, everything is okay. And hey, 100 other people just passed." They don't break up a fight. They "mind their own business" when people are in need.

That doesn't stop them calling an ambulance does it? They don't have to give their name. The 2nd driver has no excuse either. There is no excuse at all for anyone not to call for an ambulance. As for the American sueing, well that shouldn't even be accepted by a court.

Saw that the other day. Shed a little tear. Several actually.

But be under no illusion. Shit as equally appalling as that happens every single day somewhere in the world.

    Yakumo,

It's natural to feel rage towards the ones who looked away.

It's still wrong of you to generalize and accuse "the Chinese" while you should be angry with explicitly the people in this incident.

In other contexts that kind of unnecessary escalations can cause larger conflicts and I wouldn't be surprised if we soon have a flame war here.

You made it a political thread.

I concur, things like this happen all day long all over the world, there are just rarely cameras around to capture it and even if, the material might not be published.

I've just seen the video and do not want to ever watch it again. It made me really, really sad.

I don't think I'm gonna watch the video... But this is one of the worst things I've ever heard. I can't imagine that happening in the area where I live...

The reason it happened is because there has been a rash of law suits against people who had helped people in need. Basically, good Samaritans getting sued by the person they were helping and ended up having to pay. So, people don't really bother as they were afraid it was set up for a lawsuit they will loose.

Even though it sucks, that video didn't disturb me as much as it should have.

It doesn't surprise me though as when I had my head on collision with a car the driver didn't even identify themselves nor speak to me, most of the passer bys didn't care and when the police spoke to them they conveniently saw nothing. Oh and the police also failed to check the cameras of a hardware store right outside the crash site before the tapes got erased a month later and the other cameras were not recorded but were being monitored, by people who are getting paid and not looking.

Anyhow... "Apathy is the glove in to which the devil slips his hand" - seems to be the way of the world these days though, I guess there really is a hell on earth. I blame capitalism and the privitasation agenda to be honest but meh.

I can't condone the driver or his actions but there is one other factor to consider which is fear for himself. There have been more than one case like this in the past where after hitting a child the local mob mentality takes over and the person that did stop ends up getting killed.

Lots of crap happens in China, but I suspect the government tries to suppress most of it. Like students picking on someone, beating the crap out of them, and recording it on their phones to post on the web and stuff. But this story is too big to ignore for them I think.

Yeah, they'll have to address it.

I think A. Snow is on the money though. If you're a grown adult and you hit either a woman or a child and it gets out what happens? Mob mentality takes over and you get seven shades of shit beaten out of you.

I'd like go make it clear that I don't think ALL Chinese are monsters but in general they seem to have no sense of human kindness. I felt this on both my visists to China in the past. I still don't understand how someone can just walk by a human that's been ran over let alone a small child. Law suit or not, I'd at least use a phone to call for help. I think those of us with young children will feel stronger about this. All I could think was " what if that was my son?". I'd seriously punish all that walked by.

    I'm heavily shocked ...
I think that this kind of people can't really understand nothing ... How they could left alone a 2 years old little child with serious injuries ?!
    I'm really shocked ........
