Which was the first console you bought with your own money????

can't remember if it was a SNES or the PSX. good old times

 

GBA in June 2002. I got the silver color... I mean PLATINUM color edition. ALSO, Super Mario Kart Advance. Damn, it was a fun game.. and I remember getting a sweet ghost save on Rainbow Road BUT MY BROTHER SAVED OVER IT AGHASUHAJHGS

In anticipation of the GBASP, I sold off the other GBA. Platinum again this time... It cost "$70 if you bought it with Guilty Gear Advance ($30)," which is just a nice way of saying, "Take all our stock of this non-selling game, please!"

For an actual CONSOLE, it had to be the Wii at launch in 2006.

All other consoles, my parents pretty much paid for. Back in the day, my brothers obtained an NES somehow.. and then in '91 or '92, they got the SNES. I got a NES top-loader for Christmas '95.. (and fried it some years ago.. thanks a lot, Ben Heck.) My dad purchased the N64 for us on "9/30/96" with Super Mario 64 and I was totally tripping balls that afternoon after I got home from second grade. PS1 came second-hand... Gamecube came during Christmas '01... PS2 came during early 2004.

But.. the Wii came when I was justifiably old enough to afford it. My first console purchase, lol. It's been a good ride all these years, but I don't fully appreciate things unless I buy them with my own money.

 

I think the first thing I bought with my own money was an original Gameboy. Handhelds aside, my first purchase on my own was a Genesis (my parents had already bought my sister and I a NES and SNES).

 

i think it was the PS2... for Guitar Hero...

most of my consoles and stuff were given to me.

 

edit: Graciano made me remember it was actually a PS2.

however, I also bought an SNES with som emoney I earned somehow some way back in 7th grade. But My PS2 and Famicom were the first consoles from a REAL job

I bought my PSX when I was 14 maybe, with my hard earned money. Good times:icon_bigg

 

I think IIRC that is was a used NES around 1999 followed by a used SNES.

But the first "current generation" console I've buy my self was a GameBoy Advance when it got released.

 

I've had probably around 14+ game consoles and I still don't think I've paid for one of them. Then again, I'm only 18...

My parents bought a Master System back when I was...1 or 2? We got a Genesis when I was 4, and I still have it hooked up in the living room. They even bought my Saturn off of eBay for me about a year ago. I do buy the majority of my games on my own these days, though.

 

The first console I ever bought with my own money was the Nintendo 64... I bought that, a copy of OOT, and a 13 inch color TV for my room all in the same day (I'd been saving up for ages!), and I was probably the happiest kid on the planet that day. Oh how I longed for OOT... Good times, very good times indeed.

 

It was the Sega genesis, I blew alot of money on those megadrive imports, then I sold everything. Now I wish I would have kept it.

the first console i bought with my money was a Dreamcast, god i love that system :love:

 

SNES at launch, "modded" to play JPN games. All they had to do was remove that piece of plastic from the cartridge port.

Think I paid $750 CDN at the time :crying:

 

My own money, eh? Well, I haven't bought a console with my own money yet. Whenever I want one, I go out and mug old ladies....

The first one was an Atari 2600. Screw you guys - you make me feel old!

 

I think the first was second hand SNES (full boxed with mario for 10 Euro), Saturn (full boxed v.2 with a few demos for 80 Euro) or MultiMega (loose with one game for 30 Euro) can't remember, right now.

 

It may be an XBOX with OutRun 2 as before then all my consoles were Christmas gifts.

 

Mine was my first XBOX back in late 2005.
Then I bought a PS2, DC, NES, XBOX on a whole lot from eBay, in 2006 and the Wii , DS Lite and 360 in January 2007.

All hard earned money, but wisely spent :icon_bigg

The rest of my consoles were on my parents budget :110: (NES, SNES, N64, GCN and GBC)

 

A sony psp was the first time a bought with my own money (usually other systems i got from other people or as bday gifts and such).

Only reason i bought it was cause at the time i worked at target and got 20% off when it was first released at $249.99.
