Which was the first console you bought with your own money????

Mine was the N64, which is probably one of the reasons it still remains one of my favorite consoles.

 

The first console i ever bought with my own money was a playstation 1 (the chinky one) it took ages to save up and buy it and i still hav it boxed and stored away to this very day lol:icon_bigg

Anyway, my first console I bought with my own money was a launch indigo GBA.

 

A pre-owned SNES back in 2002 (which promptly blew up after I plugged it in) along with Starwing, Super Mario All-Stars & F-Zero. The whole lot cost me about £35 & I suppose you could say I arrived at the party a little late. :033:

 

The fisrt console bought with my own money was a used Saturn in 1996

 

Likewise, sir. The first console I bought with my own $$$ was a *new* Saturn during the surprise launch in '95. I suppose I paid considerably more. :lol:

 

SNES since then every console I own I bought with my own money.

 

First console that I bought was the japanese super famicom, I had to save for twenty weeks to buy it, but i was saving as soon as I knew the jap release date, I also sold off my nes collection to raise some of the whopping 400 squid!!!

 

Wow, you imported a SFC at the japanese launch? What games did you get with it?

 

PS1 was the first system I bought will all of my own money.. other systems that i had purchased up to that point were joint purchased with my Dad (cost split 50/50)

 

Mine was a Phillips CD-I 210 model. It was around 1993 and i was 12 years old. I pooled my Xmas money, sold my Natwest pigs (oops) and sold my Sega Master System to my dad! (which I got back about 3 years ago and started my SMS collection).

I seem to remember my step aunt worked in a shop calld 'Plumbs' that sold them and she got me a staff discount - but it was still about £300, it came with Tetris, Palm Springs Open, International Tennis Open and Pinball. I honestly thought it was the dogs bits! I also knew 2 other people who had them so we could swap games etc. Happy days

A coupls of years later games shot down in price as newer and clearly better stuff was coming out. They kept sending me news letters full of cheap game offers (somthing like £5 per game) so I did buy quite a few. Ive still got it and play on it now and again, dont think I would ever sell it.

I didnt buy another games machine untill my Playstation in 1999. Only ever had about 5 or 6 games for that. then that was me pretty much done untill I bought a Wii. Which again I never really play on... but ive spent the last week or so trying to complete Zillion on the SMS (again) :rambo:

 

My first console I bought was a Vectrex (in the week of release). I am older than most members here! Around the same time I also got an Intellivision.

 

The first console I ever bought was a Sony PSX back in the mid 90s.....it was well expensive and didn't even come with a game....!

I had to sit and play the demo of ridge racer all day until my Mum& Dad felt sorry for me and they advanced me my pocket money!!

 

I believe a Panasonic 3DO FZ-1 (CD-tray) was the first system I bought with my own money. Bought it for $60 at eBay, and it came with a few games, but now controller. Had to buy those for $2 a piece brand new (the Panasonic ones with the integrated headphone jack, bought 4 of em and still have 2 I never removed from the box).

The first system I purchased retail was a Nintendo DS (phat) at release night in Wal Mart Supercenter. And the first non-portable game system I bought retail with my own money was a 20GB PS3 at GameStop. (I later sold it and bought a new 60GB version last month on an impulse buy, brand new ones are kinda hard to find now at retail price).

First gaming machine that was brought with my own cash was the gameboy. But the first actual console was the Atari Jaguar
