Tell us who you think does games the way you like them, and the reasons for your answer.

I ll start off by mentioning Shigeru - a cliche for sure- because I think he's got more successful games under his belt that most other game makers. I d also go as far as to give a nod to Suda 51 for being such a sick bastard - i just love his games:D

Well, this is a toughie for me, but I like Free Radical as a whole when it comes to FPSs.

Plus, I only know a handful of creators names, and none of them are my favorites.

feel free to go with inferences such as "the creator of game X" if you cant come to think of the name - I m sure someone will know the creators name or look it up on the internets

For me Hideo Kojima, as a fan of mgs I think that his games are very very good (I love Zoe too).

Toaplan for Tatsujin, V-V, Zero Wing, Hellfire, Batsugun
CAVE for DoDonpachi / DDP Daioujou, Ketsui, ESPGaluda

And of course Yu Suzuki for Shenmue, but I still love all of his old works as well (OutRun, Space Harrier, Power Drift).

Hideo Kojima. Making games with such a high quailty story that I love till the end like MGS, policenauts etc. The man has my respect for keeping the MGS series on Sony consoles till the end unlike square enix. Not to start a flame war btw its just my opinion.

    That's a tough question Barc0de!
I'd say Ron Gilbert even though half a dozen names come to my mind while I'm typing...

I also have a lot of respect for Itagaki. He, unlike most of his contemporaries, actually focuses on gameplay.

Hmmm. After some serious thought on the subject, some of my most favorite RPGs were made by Sony. Wild Arms 1, Arc the Lad 1 + 2...Although I love Game Arts, the guys who made the Lunar games.

    Might be nostalgia talking though.

Even though I somewhat disliked Vic, and I know WD isnt a game creator site, they were my favorite game related company, even if all they did was translate a few titles.

Didnt we already did this with the best programmer thread?

Anyway, actual game creator? best in history? or the ones that were awesome but went downhill since then?

Shigeru is not a programmer , and Suda51 isn't one either. So stop bitching and post.

anyone(s) you can justify expressly for mentioning in the thread will cut it.

No favourite creator, per say, but several teams deserve a mention, and several teams crossing over with other teams, if that makes sense!

    Creators behind Wolfenstein
    Creators behind DOOM
    Creators behind Duke Nukem
    Creators behind Quake
    Creators behind Half-Life
    Creators behind Medal of Honor
    Creators behind Call of Duty
    Creators behind Bioshock

...Compared to 99.9% of Barcodes threads I thought this one was actually half decent.
