This controller would like to have a word with you it's the ONLY thing I play Mortal Kombat on And the Dual Shock 2 is my default pad for non 6 button fighters if I'm not using a stick.
Actually, the D-pad on my black 360 pad isn't awful at all. But on the wired white 360 pad I bought it is a bit off. So I'm thinking that not all 360 pads have a turd D-pad.
I know this can't be in my mind, but wasn't there a limited edition red 360 controller with a DPAD that was super improved to a point where it actually becomes feasible to use in fighting games? I have been really excited for the next DOA for years now, but seeing that (pre-alpha) trailer really didn't excite me the way I thought it would. I still have high hopes! Also, 360 pad has been perfect for every fighter I have played, I just say fuck the awful DPAD.
That's because there were no boobies in that video. I went back to Dead or Alive 4 last night. It still looks lovely although the hair animation is awful when draping over the shoulders. Also I find the game really and I mean really hard OH: Great to see it still has a large online community though. Yakumo
Hmmm, must be a Winning 11 one then (if it's red). The other you posted above as in that screenshot? If so, what variant of the 360 controller is that? Haha, it is not only because of the absence of delicious milk jugs, I assure you! ;-) & when you say DOA 4 is hard do you mean as in the game itself (game play mechanics, pulling off combos) or the still available online competition? (That surprises me to hear actually... about a year or more ago when I popped it in again I could only find 2 rooms open through a span of 4 days trying.) DOA 3-4 were so pimp for split-screen tag team matches with friends. Plus mastering the drunk guy in 4 made online so fun back then!
I mean the actual game. I keep getting my arse kicked in it. For online play I've yet to come across nobody on line. There's always someone to play. Yakumo
DOA4 is probably the easiest in the series, I think - at least as far as the Story mode. Maybe that's just because I've played it so much. It's also the most enjoyable to play, in my opinion. DOA4 alone is a pretty good reason to own a 360.
It's just because you've played it so much. Dead or Alive 4's "normal" mode is about on par with the hardest setting in any other game in the series. And there is no "easy" mode.
Alpha-152 always rips me a new asshole. She's nearly impossible even on easy. Unless I try very hard, without being frustrated. Too bad she's not playable, since she's cheap.
I pray to God that they make DOA 5 easier than 4. It's the only game in the series that i really get my arse kicked on. It is too hard for it's own good IMO.
With no itagaki and a multiplatform focus I'm sure they will ease up everything to make sure the game reaches as many people as possible. I hope though that this is the first real over haul since 2 over 1 3 just expanded on 2 and 4 just added (lame) new Characters and backgrounds Hopefully DOA 5 is an overhaul to end all overhauls and adds some new character that are actually interesting Zewi in SC V is instantly the most ineresting new character that series has had since Soul Calibur II
Yeah man. They should ditch the boobs entirely and make it like the Love Super Big Brother of fighting games!
What are you talking about? A large portion of the high-level play in DOA2 and DOA3 was being aware of your surroundings and getting your opponent's back to the wall. Of course, there were also characters who excelled with their backs to the wall because they could easily flip you and switch the tables. Lei Fang comes to mind. Right now the gameplay looks identical to DOA4, which, unfortunately, was the worst game in the series for competition. I'm not trolling, I really do like DOA and that's why I want the series to get away from DOA4 and Dimensions and back to being a more competent fighter. The older DOAs weren't without their flaws either but DOA4 took so many steps back it's not even funny. Right now, this is DOA4 with new levels and graphics and that was the worst game in the series for "deep gameplay." Same goes for the recent 3DS version, Dimensions.
Really I thought DOA 4 was the deepest game in the series Now I NEVER SAID THAT.... BUT you know DOA has competition, by Soul Calibur 7 Ivy will just be a pair of jugs bouncing across the screen. and I know what Cho Aniki is you can refer to it by that name, and it did get a Super Famicom fighter. I'm not gay...but I love me some Cho Aniki
*resists temptation to say tits or GTFO* Ok so I've not actually played a DOA game since the second one. Oh and I bought xtreme 2 but then became too embarassed to actually play it and gave it to a friend. but anyway, regardless of all the speculation of how deep it is and the like, it looks like fun and as long as Ayane is included, I will probably buy it, have my arse handed to me by everybody I play against and resort to playing on the easiest difficulty to make me feel better about myself, but most importantly I will enjoy it! and hopefully the boob-less trailer was just to encourage discussions like this to promote the game
