There's definately plenty that were better on the Amiga. Any game by Sensible Software or Team 17 for one thing.

I thought 'Digitiser' put this question to bed 15 or more years ago. The Amiga in all its forms, guises and rebrands was shit, is shit and will always be shit.

As it ever was though, the main topic question itself shows how insecure your average Amiga fanboy is, it's not so much ''why is there no Amiga thread'' as ''how dare you have the audacity not to have an Amiga thread''. Bunch of cunts the lot of 'em

Space Crusade on Amiga rocked BIG time. New Zealand Story on the Amiga was great too, Secret Of Monkey Island was wonderful too. the SSI RPGs were the best on Amiga, back then the PC versions were shit, on the Amiga they were the bomb. It was first when the GUS/Gravis Ultra Sound came to the PC, the sound really was on par with the Amiga. And I could probably go on about why I loved the Amiga, hell I even have a dead Amiga 500 in my small collection of computer stuff. And yes I voted yes, also I am opting for being a moderator for the thread/section of the Amiga. Cause I am pretty infamous of keeping the most annoying elements away, basically I am a great deterrent.

Okay. Why not just solve the "problem" with a "Retro (yeah, I hate that word, sometimes) Computer" forum? I don't think any particular brand-specific subforum is going to have enough traffic to justify it in this case.

But what do I know? Absolutely nothing about Amiga, and very little about Commodore.

I wouldn't say the Amiga failed, it was very popular in Europe for several years until competition from 16-bit consoles and Commodore's bad business moves (the CDTV, the CD32, not having enough support for AGA) killed it off, along with the concept of the "home computer".

If we get an Amiga forum then I demand a Japanese computer forum for the MSX, Sharp X1, MZ-700, X68000, NEC PC-9801, Fujitsu FM Towns, FM-7, Sord M5, etc...

Hell we can make a compromise, with the X68000, cause its CPU was the same type of processor as the Amiga, so would you accept the X68000 having a sub category in the Amiga section ?

Commodore Section rather then an Amiga section.
Had an A1200 back in the day, loved it. Sensible Software were gods. The orginal Cannon Fodder was by far the best version, if nothing else the title music "War has never been so much fun".

I would vote for a general 'Home Computer' section for the likes of the Amiga, C64, Atari ST etc. just to guage how active such a section would be. If it is active enough to jusify separating them or intruducing sub-forums, then that could be considered later.

As long you do not talk about ports of Japanese Arcade games, then I may can partly agree with your statement :)

I had an Amiga 600 before I had a Mega Drive. Best. Console/Computer. Ever.

Actually, I change my vote too. A home computer section might be nice, and may be more actively used than a pure Commodore section. :)

I vote NO. This is a console based forum. The only reason we have a PC section is for members who have trouble with their systems. People with Macs also post in there. The Amiga doesn't really belong to this forum. If we aded the Amiga then we'd have to add the ST and so on.

Why not just have one section for them all? Better than nothing. Obscure gaming is obscure gaming, no matter the presentation in my opinion.

Agreed. Even with Yakumo's concern, a total thread to cover all aspects of the computing / consoles would be more organised.

Even adding a separate Atari and Commodore thread would be fine as I mentioned above. These forums are quite popular, and have members from many other forums.

Anyway, I better stop posting over and over because all of my replies are repetitive now.
