OK, a section to computer gaming for all formats such as C64, Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, ST, Amiga, MSX and so on. I don't think we need a separate section for each at all. We'll have to see what ASSEMbler thinks though.

Yep, exactly that Yakumo. I dont see it becoming a runaway hit, but I certainly have my questions that I'd like answered about some Amiga hah.

Out of nearly 500,000 posts, 33 had amiga in the subject line.

Surely you would go by threads not posts. Also, as theres no forum for it - its not going to be discussed much.

But I would still go with the "catch all" generic "other" forum rather than a dedicated one.

There would be more, if there was a thread for it ;-)

Why not just try it the other way round - talk so much Amiga in the "Genral Gametalk" (or other fitting areas) that Assembler wants to confine us into our own section :D

So there are 562 posts containing the word Amiga out of 496,416, vs 761 for "FM Towns". That might say something. Also don't forget that the brand specific forums are supposedly for topics regarding development.

Look. This is getting repetitive again...

Lets just get a 'Generic Computing' thread, or a Commodore thread.

Think of it this way. You will increase site traffic.

LeGIt moved one of my posts which had nothing to do with development to the dreamcast development forum and told me to "ignore the developent bit" So I always assumed that those forums had become just for general discussion specific to that platform.

OK, welllll, that's what they were there for. Actual development threads are pretty sleepy so the forums catch whatever technical discussion. It's just like how this site is the "home of the obscure", but really the userbase ultimately decides.

I'm in favor of a commodore forum. It is clear that both the c64 and amiga are game consoles in disguise, and their hardware and games back that up. It is unbelievable that anyone would even dare to compare the amiga with consoles from the same era (that would be the nes for example).

The truth is, the amiga hardware was so far ahead of its time, few people could even begin to understand what the possibilities were.
