You can use the classic controller to work the home screen, plugged into a WiiMote. Design looks OK to me, they're going for simplicity which is the Wiis main selling point. You know, TV remote shaped controller and channels for people who can't relate to game controllers, even though they've had since 1976 to frickin' relate to game controllers. Still hyped for it. First console that won't embarrass your 1080p TV, first True HD console really, with the good games to back it up. I'll be in line to buy one. Fight my way through the 12 year olds.
True HD as in everything runs in 1080p. 360/PS3 can do 1080p... But it's rare. http://forum.beyond3d.com/showthread.php?t=46241 <<< Very rare. 720p isn't even as common as you'd think, lotta stuff running in 600p upscaled. Biggest game in the world, well... My world, Call of Duty:

Call of Duty 3 = 1040x624 (2xAA) Call of Duty: Black Ops = 1040x608 (2xAA) Call of Duty: Modern Warfare = 1024x600 (2xAA) Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 = 1024x600 (2xAA) Call of Duty: World at War = 1024x600 (2x AA)

Come on now, pick it up, bitta enthusiasm for a new console, seems like we ain't had a new one since Tricky Dicky was in office.
My opinion that the so called HD consoles PS3 and 360 can't run a decent looking game at 720p/60fps/4xFSAA without having a seizure? Muhahahahahaha!!!! Counting down the days until launch son, going to be the only one in the line with pubes, grey pubes at that. I like new toys. Welcome Chang3, all that.
It's just a video game console, really, don't take it all so personally. Don't be holding a 27 year grudge because the princess was in another castle.
Are you serious? This guy is presenting technical facts and you're accusing him of being a fanboy? I don't think you understand what a fanboy is. He'd be a fanboy if he said Mario was the first platformer ever invented, or if he was arguing that no one was as genius as Shiggy. He's just pointing out the resolutions of stuff and saying he's looking forward to a system that consistently supports true 1080p. As for the WiiU, I gotta see what the games are first. I love my 3DS to death, but the Wii barely sees any play (though Xenoblade Chronicles has changed that as of late).
I couldn’t care less about the new Nintendo console for the simple reason that it will become yet another family orientated box of crap. I was burnt by the Wii and will never look back when I sold it 2 years after launch and bought a 360. IMO the only true great Nintendo console was the Super Famicom. I don't care for handhelds and I wasn't really in to gaming that much when the NES was popular (Well, I had a Master System then a Mega Drive from 1988). The Super Famicom had all the greats on it. That machine was the gamer’s console of the time. These days Nintendo means family gaming. That is not something I'm looking for. Sure, some family gaming is good but a lack of real games is what puts me off. Sure, at the beginning they have the so called killer titles but as we all know VERY WELL with Nintendo, they take the sweet time in ever bringing out something new. Oh and I hate Mario. Well, not hate but don't really enjoy. It's not about power but the games I enjoy. I always thought the Wii would be a return to the good old days of the SFC for Nintendo. How wrong I was. I don't see the Wii-U being any different either. Yakumo
It's OK, I've been at this forum nonsense since Prestel/Micronet 800 on my Sinclair Spectrum. Reaaaaly don't care or need defending. But thanks. Just wish this Link outfit I got on came in XXXL, buttons keep popping on it and my stomach keeps coming out. What was the first platformer ever invented btw? Not Donkey Kong?
My favorite will always be the N64. True, it had a small library, but it has some really awesome games on it. It has one of my favorite racing games of all time, Wave Race 64. Etc. etc. I've never really played SNES much, but it does have some pretty good games on it.
Best console Nintendo ever made, the SNES/Super Famicom, no doubt. I quite like the Wii, as long as you steer clear of Mel Bs Fitness club, Dancing Games, and lame shooters that would play a lot better on twin sticks. Stick to New Super Mario Bros, House of the Dead Overkill, Super Mario Galaxy 1+2, DKC Returns, and the two Zeldas. And hit up some of the Wiiware, Bit Trip Runner is a real classic, World of Goo is good too. VC Games are good too, even though the Master System Emulation is garbage. But yeah, I love me some Mario, not a Zelda guy though. It's slim pickings, not the avalanche of quality titles you get on 360,PS3 and Windows, but there's some exclusive gaming there you don't get anywhere else.... Well, until Dolphin gets fixed up to run everything perfect.
I really liked House of the Dead Overkill on the Wii but it got some really low scores. The Wii needed much more grown up games to become a worth while gaming platform for many men. It did have some good games but you know what made me change was looking in to mags thinking "Oh yeah, now that looks good" then only finding it was 360 or PS3 only. That happened far too many times which is why I made the switch. And like I said, I'll never regret the move to 360. If you can understand my feelings then I think many can understand why I have no interest in the WiiU.
Oh yeah I can understand, Wii isn't all about the hardcore gamer, 360 does a better job of looking after the casuals with Kinect and still looking after the hardcore. Nintendo are all about throwing the core gamers the yearly bone. Some people love the Wii though because it's like living in a world where Sony and Microsoft never existed. And Sonic and Mario are friends... Awww.... I'm a gaming slut, I play anything, and I like new smell, but my main machine is a Windows gaming machine, I play that 90% of the time. And of course some people like Nintendo consoles because they're so much easier to crack. Not me, bad boys do stuff like that.
My SNES is undergoing some modifications right now, so I'm looking forward to getting to play it again. I haven't played it in a while due to it not being RGB-compatible, but that is soon to be a thing of the past. I'm also looking forward to playing Sutte Hakkun without an annoying buzzing sound.
