exactly. you really gotta NITPICK to find the differences between consoles. Ooo this game on the PS3 has runs at smoother FPS, XBox 360 version of a game has less screen tearing, etc. Give me a break.

Cool, anyone still waiting for this? Dont believe the hype... as always with nintendo, we will see
Dude, that was a tech demo...Just like no one is waiting for this either http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmVdanmZC6Q Or this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylyXEMPaVHQ or this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ned4N4fLF_I Or this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1RVAhpZWxU&feature=related No one expected this in the Ghostbusters game http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=pdZN4myeuDc#t=14s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMjkzEhIsj8 FINAL FANTASY 64? No, just a tech demo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKlbx5niBu8 CRAZY DOLPHIN GAME? No. A tech demo. People like you are the reason the internet imploded on itself when Wind Waker's trailer was released.
You people... Grrr.... Well we got Super Mario Galaxy 2 so Mario 128, as in a direct sequel to Mario 64, not the tech demo, really isn't missing. Anything that game would have done SMG2 does a million times better. Yeah, dudes make up their own games based on misunderstanding rumor and speculation then get all pished when the game the internets invented doesn't come out. If they bring Wii U to market with Pikmin 3 and New Super Mario Bros 2 I'll be in line to buy one at launch. Not that New Zealand is a big gaming country, nobody lines up for anything here. Bunch of games that are tech demos for the tablet... Not so much. I don't think Nintendo are the type to over promise and under deliver really. Although I'm still waiting on that pulse monitor they showed a couple of E3s back. What was it, the Vitality Sensor.
Seeing them use the Mario 128 labeling made everyone think a true sequel to Mario 64 was coming to the GC. instead we got a niche mario game (sunshine) and then finally on a completely new system the true follow up (Galaxy). To me, it was a bait and switch. I think the GC was a great system and the fact people are still playing GC games over Xbox 1 games shows how great the system was. But it really needed a traditional mario game.
so, you agree that nintendo releases a lot of tech demos then heh heh. Just saying that i am jaded (and openly admitting that) towards the big n but what they do put out is always incredible. I just as an adult have time for only so many games, and consoles, so I would like to see an all around nintendo system that can do what the others do, PLUS the amazing first party games.
with a real mario game that fit into the canon, who knows how many more systems that would have moved. or a true sequel to yoshis island, etc etc. what if, right?
I never understood what the hell people thought Mario 128 was going to be. Did folks really want to play a game about picking up boxes and revealing more Marios?
These types of things DO matter. But are largely unoticable by a lot of people Many Dual platform games these days do have a ton of issues and differences. It just doesn't seem as dramatic as old days. And there COULD be bigger differences that more would notice but publishers/devs and the console makers want "parity" between platforms instead of upgrading and building each version to the best of each console's abilities.
I don't think anyone thought the demo represented actual gameplay just technology that would be present in a Mario 128 game. I think using the 128 title especially after Mario 64 was pretty misleading.
Laserdisc/VHS combo unit? I don't think such a thing ever existed. Anyway, it looks pretty similar to the Wii, to me.
What? I don't know what pictures you've been looking at, but the ones I've seen look nothing like that. This is what it looks like: Pretty much like a Wii but with more rounded edges.
well, every few years consumer electronics go through a change in look. now it is clean looking white, before it was black (xbox, ps2) so whatever... they all borror from one another.
I also think it's a bit of a mistake to make it look very similar to the Wii, because that will give people the impression that it's just a slightly different version of the Wii, when it's actually a completely new system. I think a lot of people think that about the 3DS - that it's just a new revision of the DS, rather than a completely new system (which it is).
The design probably comes from the marketing people. If they sold so many units when it looked one way, why take the chance on a brand new design? At least thats what the suits are saying, I agree it looks boring... Whatever you think of sony, they've taken chances design wise. The PS 1 was a slick looking system but when they released ps 2, it looked like something that would sit next to a VCR. I guess they were thinking of the japanese market needing a dvd player so making it look like a standard dvd player worked but still a risky design.
I don't really have any interest in the WiiU. I've got too much love for a traditional controller. The fact that I have to use the Wiimote to select the channel to play GameCube games upsets me.
