This has to be one of the most WTF threads I read here.

Leave the fan alone OP, it's a pretty stupid move to remove it, if you don't know how stuff work then don't mess with them and don't "fix" what is not broken. You are just shortening your console's life - unless ofcourse that is your goal with the crazy fan theories.
If this is a trolling attempt then it's a failed one. 0/10

I am not trolling I am serious. And I seriously doubt that it will shorten the consoles life. I know how these things work. I am not a complete asshole.

Ill be honest, for a self proclaimed expert in these things - I would say this is not a smart move and shows you dont know as much as you imply.

That or your bar for "expert" is pretty low, especially for someone not old enough to drink.

Sounds like teenage over enthusiasm to me. Remember the forum you are posting on - the bar is very high here.

It doesn't make sense to remove the heatsink. It doesn't make any noise, it doesn't add anything to your electricity bill.
    Trolling confirmed.

I am completely honest that I am an expert. I am not gullible enough to be dumb on a high bar forum.

It isn't the heatsink. It's the bloody fan. And I am not trolling at all.

Considering many Wii's died because of the Connect24 service not using the fan, I'd be cautious.

I dont want to sound like a prick or anything, but just because you know words used by experts in certain fields doesn't automatically qualify you to be an expert in that field. You've been constantly told by people who have 10x more experience then but yet you still seem to ignore what they have to say. Please come back once you actually know what your talking about

    So?

When I was 2 I was wiring plugs. At 3 I fixed a spectrum 48k, which is more impressive than PC which is just swap out parts for the most part. Both of which I didnt believe until I was shown the VHS recording by my parents.

However, I can assure you - you are no expert. You might be better than people you know IRL, but that doesnt make you an expert around these parts.

What you do have is plenty of arrogance though.

Hardly worth it, when you will just google it.

But here we go, while we are talking about wiis:

What are common problems with the WIi Av Encoder and what are the symptoms (and how do you fault find it)?

What is the process for recovering a Wii with a corrupt nand but still has the boot2 exploit?

How many blocks is the boot1/boot2 of the Wii Nand?

What is the problem with the Wii Bluetooth module and what are the symptoms when one of them stop working? How do you fix it (the actual module, not just replacing it).

Those are off the top of my head.

    1. I've never heard of any problems w/ the AV encoder in my life. They are all just cable.

    2. Use BootMii of course.

    3. 8 blocks. 0 is boot1 and 1-7 is boot2

    4. If either the Bluetooth or the Wifi dongle stops working, it can no longer boot in any way. The only way to fix it is by replacing it or reconnecting it if you opened it before.

1:) wii AV encoder is a chip in the console. COmmon problem is you get a blank screen with component, but works via composite or vice versa (or just displays in black and white). Fix is to desolder and replace it.

2:) without bootmii being installed and without a nand backup.

    3:) correct

4:) Wrong, Wifi module will stop it completely. Bluetooth module will allow "savemii" to work and display the system menu version in the corner. Bootmii will also work. You fix the bluetooth module by reprogramming the eeprom on it, as it gets corrupt.

    So yeah, "expert".

I know all these things and dont claim to be an expert. You shouldnt either, learn some humility.

Question is who made the AV encoder? 2 people made the encoders.

I know a lot of chips and their manufactures.

Off the top of my head, it was ROHM part. But you are changing the subject.
