Huh? Why? You can already play it on the PS3, 360, and PC for $30 new, with the ability to import saves from the previous games. Having it on Wii U makes absolutely no sense, besides the fact that EA wants more money.
That was kind of my point, both MH3 and ME3 are already out and are pretty much just "updates" of games I can already buy, it's hardly worth me buying a brand new console just for that. The release lineup is pretty poor, if these are the only games I'm interested in I can't see me my self wanting this system very much.
You have to think all of Nintendo's goodies like , Paper Mario , Zelda , Mario Bros , Metroid ect plus the benefit of new age games on the same console is going to be bad ass. 1080p Mario here I come!
Most of AV is what is now Studio Yakuza. -edit- GX producer was this man Toshihiro Nagoshi http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toshihiro_Nagoshi
Nintendo systems are not strong graphically, so you can buy them years after they come out and all the crap has been weeded out...
I only see myself getting one of these well after launch when the next Smash Bros comes out. At that point there will be loads of them on the used market, and so the cost will be much lower. I do plan on getting an Orbis. I've been a Sony person, and I see no reason for me to switch. That is, unless Sony really screws it up.
Nope. Nintendo has already stated the Wii U will not be backwards compatible with the GameCube. They also said they're not against the idea of offering digital downloads of GameCube games either. Greedy fuckers, learned that trick from Sony.
Yep Nintendo made that rather clear, as the latest Wii has no Gamecube ports. Another thing is of course they'll make you buy the game again, but that's only for silly people who trade their systems in for a new one and then want the old one again -_- Anyway, I'll be getting the ZombiU pack they mentioned. Really 8GB is shit all if they're going to have Gamecube classics on the eStore, are not most Gamecube games 1.XGB? I'm guessing the SD slot is expandable but how much could a decent size flash cost!? Reminds me of the whole 4GB XBOX 360 all over again.
Will be pre-ordering tomorrow. Nintendo Land looks fun, NSMBWiiU could be cool, and ZombiU looks fun. Also, Platinum Games is making two games for the system exclusively. Sold.
Nintendo's stills make good games people, they never finish to amazes us;but what I dislike though is that they always do the same characters and dont often go out of their field of comfortability. The wii U looks awesome for pikmin 3 too !
If it was 249.99, I would buy it on the launch window. I will get one at some point for sure. Being able to run all my existing Wii games and VC games with the same controllers I already have is great. At this point, you probably already know if you like Nintendo's first and second party offerings and I like them enough to justifiy the purchase. Being able to play all those titles, new and from the previous generation plus Netflix, on hdmi sounds good to me. I guess this is the first time that a launch lineup does not grab me, but I'm sure Nintendo will deliver later, they alway's do. Nintendo consoles make great secondary systems on the worst case scenario. Here's a tought that I read in twitter by one of the editors from Giantbomb.com: If the "crappy console" you don't want costs $349.99...how much do you think the console that you really want (Sony and MS) is going to cost?
If they want 350 for it, it might be powerful. But the past two systems has proved they are incapable of keeping good 3rd party support past launch for the most part....
OH YEAH TOTALLY MORE EXPENSIVE. Let's look at the numbers. Turns out the Wii U will run CoD Black Ops II @1080p60 +60FPS on the tablet controller at the SAME TIME(With co-op play. One person on screen one on tablet). The PS3 and 360 can barely do 60FPS at Sub-720p. (Less than 640,000 Pixels.) Where as the Wii U will be pushing ~2,483,520 Pixels. 1920x1080p +854X480(which is almost the same resolution as the PSVita) VS anywhere from 960x544 to 1040x608 on the PS3/360. ;Black Ops 1 ran @ PSVita Resolution on the PS3. (Which is only ~500,000 Pixels, 960x544) Seems like the WiiU will get the best version of that game. (Aside from PC maybe) You can play it with the game pad, classic controller pro or the wiimote/numchuck. (I think there might be others too) And if you don't want to use the tablet, most games will support the classic controller pro. The system doesn't even cost that much over previous Nintendo consoles. Almost all have been priced from 199-249$. And in Japan they've almost exclusively been 25,000 Yen.(The 3DS was also 25,000 Yen at launch) For something that is probably more powerful (Must be considering what it can do with Black ops II) and feature laden than the PS3, it costs just a bit more than Half the PS3 original price(600$,$681.86 in today's money). And 67% of what I payed for my original PS3 (520$, extra 20$ was because it didn't come with component). AND it can use all the Wii peripherals and play all Wii games/VC games. (Unlike the 360, who's BC is spotty at best) For 349$ you certainly got more than you did with a 360 for 400$ at launch. (469.24 in today's money) Larger HDD space(by 21GB since only 11GB was usable on the 360 20GB HDD), wireless, HDMI,HDMI cable AND a free game. (And if you didn't buy the 400$ Premium you ended up spending more in the long run to get the same stuff as the 400$ console. 100$ alone for a stupid 20GB 2.5" laptop HDD stuck in an enclosure. The Wii U will support external HDD's day 1 and for 100$ you can get a 1TB external.) You also don't have to pay extra for Netflix unlike the 360 To me, that's a pretty good deal considering the huge leap from Wii to Wii U.(Even though compared to modern PCs it's not as powerful.) And Nintendo is giving everybody the options to play how they prefer in many games. Don't like the tablet? I'm sure many games will support the CCPro(like Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and Call of Duty Black Ops II) Like the wiimote+numchuck? Many games will probably support that too. I wanted one before, but MH3U and Bayonetta 2 seal the deal for me. My only concern lies in the long run if MS and Sony make their succesors a GIGANTIC leap over their predecessors. And use a GPU along the lines of a 7950/GTX670. But I doubt we'll get consoles that powerful. The resolution boost from 720p to 1080p is already less than the resolution boost from PS2/Xbox 1 to PS3/360 (2.2X vs ~3X) My dream PS3/360 successor will be one that will be able to do 1080p native with high end Anti Aliasing solutions(SGSSAA/High end SMAA, 8XQMSAA, etc) or hybrid solutions (Like MSAA+TrSSAA+FXAA/SMAA or TXAA or OGSSAA+MSAA+FXAA). Anti Aliasing truly does wonders for IQ in a game. And I am hoping that it will get better attention with the PS3/360 successors. It can make a game from great to amazing and make a game look almost completely new.(Depending on the game of course) Crysis No AA 1080p http://i.minus.com/ibuidT0i9g4Xk2.png Hybrid AA (4XMSAA+OGSSAA+FXAA) http://i.minus.com/i0tWRDLYWdTUl.png 4XSGSSAA 1080p(FPS is because my card can't handle SGSSAA in Crysis. That's just me though. I doubt anyone else feels the same.(About AA I mean)
