I think the best performance was from Germany and we have very good chance to win the cup this year .
It was a great start at least BTW Is anybody else pissed off by those goddamn vuvuzelas? They ought to forbid bringing them to the stadium for Christ's sake, sounds like sitting next to a bee hive.
Very true and also in 2002 they got to the q/finals along with england but wc2006 usa 0 - 3 czk ita 1 - 1 usa gha 2 - 1 usa 1 point out of a possible 9 and only 2 goals :crying: witch means back to square one until they make the q/finals again.
Group of death games today. I think Brazil will turn Korea over 3-0 whilst Ivory Coast will beat Portugal 1-0. England will not win anything. Heskey??? Come on. Rooney is dry in about 6 games now and playing up with Heskey will not help in the slightest. He leaves Walcott at home and brings SWP; SWP will not win any team a game. The majoy problem for me though is the general expectancy, again; everyone (including myself) seem to think that England are more than a second rate team when we simply aren't! Still..... I'll expect the same next time!
We play like a 2nd rate team but we sure as hell should not be. Rooney, Lamps, Gerard, A.Cole, Terry are world class players who would all play in virtually any XI (Club or country) J.Cole, Barry, Defoe, G.Johnson, Lennon, King are top class players who SHOULD be able to perform well at this level. (And seeing that we left Ferdinand, Hargreaves, Walcott & Bent (who is sooo underrated) at home I think we have a pretty strong squad!) But for whatever reason we never gel as a team, never play to our strengths and always look like a poor Championship league team. I have lost interest in the National team over the years, to be honest I cant wait till the EPL starts again and I can watch Chelsea win another title!!!
How the fuck did the slovenian guy manage handball, it's like he aimed for it on purpose. He sees the ball. HAND UP. Wtf?
Something needs to be done about flopping. If you're not able to fix that loophole then you should ban TV stations from showing slow motion replays of it.
There's been talk about using instant replays to help refereeing for ages, but nothing has happened. Anyway, the Internet and people who don't even watch football/soccer really exaggerate that problem anyway.
True..but the way people exaggerate the frequency of this happening, it's like football games don't consist of anything but people diving on the grass. It's not really even that effective these days.
i have seen a couple cards given out for flopping so far. it mostly just makes me laugh. especially when they're holding body parts that never made contact with anything.
Australia got 4 yellows and a red one in the game against Germany. Didn't save them from the fatal 4:0 eh I'll watch the game Brasil vs. North Korea tonight. I've never seen a North Korean soccer game, it's gonna be interesting.
