Cool thanks. Have fun with the store demo, I bought one myself on eBay recently.

Really, was it the same one? Man I must have missed that! Anyway congrats on your new items and good luck with finding the other items you're wanting. :)

Actually I just checked my GT "demo" and it says PAPX 90026, which isn't the same as what you got. Is there a difference?

Yeah, there is a difference. PAPX 90026 is the Trial Version demo; which is still an awesome thing to own. :) The Store Demo is a disc that I presume wasn't released to the public, and was shown or played in shops in Japan. As I haven't received it yet (it's in the post); I can't tell you what the gameplay is like. It might be playable, or it might just be a rolling demo. I also just picked up a copy of Gran Turismo 4 Nissan 350z Special Edition.

Interesting, I'll have to look into finding one of those store demos. Where did you find the Nissan?

You bet I'm interested! I've sent the seller a message in hopes that he can ship to the US and the listing only does UK :( Also how exactly can someone easily use Yahoo JP if they don't know Japanese at all? Thanks Matt, it's great to have another GT fan to talk with and trade listings with :D

Yes I agree; it's great to share what we've bought with one another. :) I saw the listing had ended on that GT4 disc, I hope you won it and the seller agreed to post to you!

As for Yahoo JP Auctions, it is a bit awkward unfortunately. You have to use a bidding service such as Easy Auction Japan or Rinkya. (Those are two that I know of, there might be more.) It translates the auctions into English and you can bid through their site. Any items you win are posted to them, and they forward them overseas to you, for a fee.

Cool, I'll have to look into them. Bummer about the fees, I've gotten so used to eBay being free. And yes, I was the lucky dog who bought the disc, the seller was very nice and offered to cover US shipping :D I'm really excited, of all the GT items out there I certainly didn't expect to see one online. The only other listing I had seen was that one you bought!

Tokyo-Seoul was EVERYWHERE in korea. Pretty much every game store I went to had several copies but at the time I didn't realise how desirable it really was amongst collectors so I only grabbed one.

That said that was 5 years ago, things might be different now.

Either way find an ex-pat who is willing to help you and ask them to go to Yongsan for you (in Seoul). Should be easy to find a copy there for no more than USD $20.

Interesting, how would I go about finding an ex-pat?

Congrats on your purchase! Yeah, I remember thinking the same - pretty much how am I ever going to get my hands on some of these games? But Japanese sites are usually the answer; especially if the item you're looking for was only released in Japan, e.g. GT 2000. Other than that, either check on sites like this or on Ebay. In fact, I actually bought the Gran Turismo 2004 Toyota Special Edition from a seller on here; though I also saw a copy for sale on Ebay once. :)

2000, Replay Theater, and First Preview showed up yesterday, and I'm expecting BMW any day now. Quesiton: I saw on Edward_v12s epic collection there was also a BMW Virtual Beta that added the word dealership to the title. Why is that? What's the difference?

That's great to hear. :) Yeah, I saw that in his collection too. I'm not too sure of the difference, but it could possibly that the 'Dealership' copies could have been owned by the staff at the BMW dealerships. Or perhaps it was playable at the dealership itself. Whereas the copies without 'Dealership' were the ones that were given away. Just a theory though.

Sounds likely, curious as well that it seems the one he has is only a slip without a CD. If he of all people doesn't have the disc, does anyone?

He certainly has the most extensive collection on the internet. Yeah, I'd love to se what the game disc is like, though it'd probably have the same gameplay as the standard Virtual Drive Disc. Hmm, just another thought; maybe it contains information about the game much like a press kit...?

Yeah, I think it's the NTSC demo of GT3 that was released. Like you said, shame it's so over-priced; but that's probably because it's new and sealed. I'd be interested to see what the gameplay of it is like, though I'd probably wait for a cheaper, non-sealed one to come on the market. Though I believe that the PAL demo of GT3 which I have, which was released with the 5th edition of OPS2M; was a worldwide exclusive at the time. So I assume it would be a later build.

Probably best to visit some of the ESL teaching forums and see if you can identify members who are already in the country.

Then just ask really nicely, it'll be awkward no doubt but I would have helped you so I'm sure someone else will.

So you mean something just like this? Is this the 'black label' you talk about? Because if you do want this, PM for a deal.
