WTB: certain Gran Turismo titles

Hi Skier, how's your collection going? I just bought a couple of new items the other day, and I thought you might like to hear about them. I picked up a copy of the GT2 soundtrack and a copy of the NTSC/J GT4 Online Beta from Suruga-ya - though they haven't arrived yet.

 

It's pretty good, though since that set of pictures I posted, I haven't made much progress. I got a Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Press Kit recently, and a shirt and lanyard from the Gran Turismo event at E3. That online beta is definitely a big want for me, how did you get one? Yahoo Auctions Japan again?

 

Oh that sounds really good - especially the press kit! I've been looking at the press kit auctions for a while now, but they always go for more than I'm prepared to pay hehe. The Online Beta Version was from a Japanese website called Suruga-ya, which is much like Rakuten only they only post domestically - within Japan. So I had to use a forwarding service to get them overseas. Though there's an NTSC version too which I don't have yet.

 

Yeah I only grabbed the press kit because it was a much lower price than usual. My other big press kit want is one of those GT4 Limited Editions. Those things are beautiful. And I've seen a couple of those GT4 NTSC online discs and at first thought they were fake, as the only beta I had heard of was the Japanese one. What's the story with those?

 

Yeah to be honest, I only read about the NTSC version the other day. I think they're official though, as I've seen them mentioned on the internet somewhat. Probably something to look out for on eBay.

 

Yeah I've seen a couple in people's collections, but was curious because I hadn't heard of a beta outside the JP/Korea one, and I've only seen a disc for that beta and no box/materials.

 

Yeah me too, I've only seen the disc and some press materials - no box or case or anything. Ortus or EdwardV12 might be more knowledgeable about it.

 

Yeah, I'm going to take a look in their collection threads and see if they have it or any details. As a side note, I noticed recently it's been a long time since either of them updated their collection threads.

I don't know/doubt you'd be interested but I ended up with a Gran Turismo 5 branded little multi tool flashlight and branded usb-car charger thing from a promo program awhile back I'd be willing to let go of

Slightly OT, bit didn't one of the GT2 releases come on a disc that was 'scratch and sniff' and it supposed to smell like burnt rubber?

 

Man, that jacket is sick! Would love to have it. Perfect size and everything.

Yes, one of the discs had that feature. I believe it was a standard feature for all retail copies.

Unfortunately no, it was awesome but it was IMO wayyyyyyy too pricey, and I've been really busy the last couple months. Only pick up I've had since July was a Tokyo Geneva promo disc. I was about to get a Gran Turismo hat from E3 this year but lost the chance :/ But I did get a shirt and lanyard from the same event earlier.
