I was under the impression there is an option to allow for native (ie not 'stretched') 16:9 widescreen. Guess I'll know by 2am 3/21 ;P
I can almost guarantee the PSP version will just be the emulated PSOne title and be 4:3 (with an icky 'stretch' option).
Nope, it has been recoded in widescreen for the PSP Castlevania Chronicles: X Edit: Actually I can't find where I read that. It might not be true after all!
In that case i'll assume the same for the Xbox 360 version, seems to make sense if you spent the time coding one you would reuse the code.
Ok then I won't hint. You are flat out wrong. There are some noticeable differences between the two versions. -hl718
Strange, not sure how there could be much differences...SotN is SotN no? AFAIK both are based on the PSOne title...? Does one have extra's or something? The only real 'difference' I could guess would be the addition or lack of 16:9 support? Other than that all iv'e head was that they re-recoreded all of one line in the game.
OK, no native 16:9, you can play in the original resolution bordered, or manually stretch the image. They removed the FMV's (Or at least the opning one). But they still got it to 95mb with everything else intact which is amazing.
Eh, yes and no. While it may not be "true" native 16:9, the Enhanced graphics act as a way to smooth everything out, making it look non-pixilated and smooth. I like it, it should have been a feature for other Live games. Although I wish they redid part of the HUD and the text boxes for the enhanced mode, since they are the only things that look sort of weird. So far, I am liking it. The removal of the FMV's isnt big, since it is just ugly shots of the castle in 3D. The load times are nice and short, which is great. Also, the map works faster. However, there is a weird bug: I tend to get into a "fake hit" animation, where Alucard will randomly stop, play his "OH SHIT! I am getting hit" moan, and not be able to move. However, he takes no damage. Is it just me that is getting it?
Does the Red Rust cause it? I never used it at all when I played it back in 98, so I don't know what it does. However, I am not getting any more issues when I equipped back to the short sword.
It looks gross stretched to fill my whole hdtv's screen, but it's an awesome game! Reminds me of Metroid sort of. It'll be funner to play at my moms since they have a normal TV. I don't like the border thing...
Some weapons/armour drain HP and Alucard will reflect this with the animation. SotN is a lot like Super Metroid, yeah. Even better though, I reckon!
Super Metroid was an amazing game! I sucked at the first Metroid game, but I thought Metroid II was a fine game on the GB. SoTN is quite good too, but I like the Metroid exploration in a lonely far away planet theme more I guess.
I intend to buy the GBA games when I next find them either boxed with manuals or for a reasonable price as cart only. The DS Castlevanias try to revisit SotN but somehow fail. I think it's the emo characterisations that kill them.
lol! emo charectarizations. I absolutely love the WHAT IS A MAN BUT A MISERABLE PILE OF SECRETS BUT ENOUGH HAVE AT YOU thing! I swear I've seen that elsewhere! Awesome as hell. How long is this game? Tacious, I got Metroid Zero mission for 10$ complete off ebay, so maybe keep an eye out! Metroid Fusion is really good too, I loved that game.
