Alright guys, it's been a while since some XS porn so here's this newest collection item. Finally.... And before anyone points it out, yes it has a plain black jewel. It is highly believed it was NOT swapped out but like in anything else in the world of these things, who the hell really knows. Came with the duke on top as well so I'm happy.
I did. Carefully heatgunned the bottom stickers, cleaned up the dog piss mess, removed clock cap and resealed. While I was inside discovered it does not appear to have the black jewel messed with. The foam appears untouched and original. Inside was literally the cleanest console I've ever seen. I don't think it was ever really used. No dust bunnies at all.
I mean it's possible. I figure it that we're the case the console would not have worked or something. I dunno. The previous owner was an NBA player who went through bankruptcy. I'm curious if they ever gave stuff away like this to high profile xbox fanboys or something. From what I've been told, he was original owner.
Here is the eBay link for those wondering about it. I have no reason to hide it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/351942637448
No doubt, was his gamertag on it? Also seeing he wasn't a launch team member, perhaps that's why they didn't give him the team jewel. Also I wonder what his promotion was with Xbox, that type of stuff interests me.
I haven't delved into the HDD quite yet tbh. I powered it on and wanted to ensure the disc drive worked and more importantly the duke. Here is the bankruptcy sale the eBay seller got it from. http://www.bnd.com/news/local/article120692678.html
Glad to see it finally arrived. Maybe he asked not to have Bill's signature on the top because he wanted to put his own signature there. Ha
It seems the 2001 LT consoles are easier to find these days than the green Dukes. Which is odd because there should be at least twice as many green Dukes out there as consoles...
