The Stars is more common than this one..but since Maziroa has gone for 200000 i suppose it could be the same for Stars...Yen is REALLY low those days,200000 Yens is around 1270€
I remember selling mine 1000€ like 4 years ago, when DC market was still alive!
then it hasn't "really" inflated that much...

"Yeah they all add that. Sold as seen is the Ebay equivalent. Unlike Ebay yahoo stuff nearly always works. (some cheeky ebay buggers sell stuff they know as broken with the 'as seen' or 'untested' lingo)"

I've found the recently the Yahoo sellers have been a bit "cheeky." Item descriptions are getting weaker, the products are taking longer to arrive, and more often the items listed as "junk" are just that. Sellers used to list nearly everything older as Junk, but now I'm seeing more actual junk items that come in, much more than before. You could always read between the lines, too, like if a seller was selling a system at market price, say 20,000 yen, and listed it as junk. To me that meant it was OK but he didn't want to give any warranty. That was almost always the case. I think some Sellers have caught on to this and list junk itmes that really are junk for 20,000 yen to imply that it's actually fine. I've stared to back off on those now since the chances of success seem a lot lower than before.

One Seller listed a FM Towns Marty at 10,000 yen and said it was untested and I bought it. It arrived with a music CD in the CD tray. It wouldn't boot up or do anything. I sent him an email asking why there was a CD inside the tray if he didn't test it, and he told me that he just wanted to confirm that a CD would actually fit in the CD tray...!! heh...

I think Sellers are starting to learn these little tricks, plus add the fact that you have no chance for a refund and it might spell trouble in the future.

Guess you weren't making yen, paying off US college loans when it was 148 yen / 1 USD. The dollar is weak now too though.

This was a Stars? You sold it in Europe? I bought might on YJ before moving for about 130,000 yen if I remember. I will just hang on to it though. I figure it will be cool to show my kid one day.

They just don't want the hassle that comes along w/ it. By listing something as "junk" you are basically saying "tough shit if it's broken". YJ has always been like this. How many times have you seen an auction listed as "absolutely mint" compared to "condition is good, but if you're a serious collector, please refrain from bidding"?

But I get the impression that sellers on YJ are more accurate in their description than on Ebay. They also go into much more details, like taking a closed up picture at even very small rips in the seal even with not very expensive factory sealed items.

I am not sure if it is appropriate to post my request here, if not please delete, mods..

I want to ask if anyone is willing to act as my "middleman" on YJ for a fee less than what I am paying Shoppingmalljapan. Their fee structure:

1. Base fee of $5.00 for auctions up to ¥2,000.
2. Base fee of $8.00 for auctions ¥2,001 up to ¥4,000.
3. Base fee of $12.00 for auctions ¥4,001 up to ¥10,000.
4. $1.00 fee for every ¥1,000 over ¥10,000. (rounded up to nearest 1k)
5. $0.50 fee for every ¥1,000 over ¥30,000. (rounded up to nearest 1k)
Basically the percentage gets smaller as the price goes up.

I spend an average of $1000+ USD every month. For example, I spent around $1600 last month and commission charge was around $300 that is NOT INCLUDING overseas shipping charge to my place.

I have been using SMJ for about 2 years. Even though their fees are high I cannot find another professionally managed service which is cheaper. However it is getting too expensive...

I can register a YJ account myself, pay the registration fee and do the bidding myself.

All I need help for is communicating with the seller after the auction (I can learn how to do this too if with a template or sth), so essentially what I need you to do is pay the seller, receive the things for me and ship them to me when they accumulate to one big box. On top of the commission, I will also pay for all the shipping and packaging fees.

Please let me know if you are happy to offer this service. Thanks!

I was speaking about Yen compared to Euro
US$ is low as well

I paid my STARS (Blue) DC around 30000 Yens...when it came out!
And sold it to a french guy yes,for 1000€..
And i sold it,because i think i have way more cooler things to show to my kid 1 day :)

I generally don't hang on to stuff long enough. As a nomad, it's always been in my interest to keep the load light. I've got a few things, but I'm sure he'd rather me just save him money.

Its a Hibaihin/not for sale-version. As far as my Japanese goes, I can't see any further description about what it is except collectors should not bid due to the crappy condition.

Maybe it's the version with the debug mode and stuff?

I think they all look a bit crappy. ^_^ There is another picture of one at the Nintendo Warpzone site and it looks just like it.

He is most likely calculating the games pretty high b/c they're sealed. No doubt, many games that aren't that expensive will fetch 10,000 - 20,000 yen when sealed (Tengai II, Emerald Dragon, Y's I-II), plus a lot of primo games that get even more expensive when sealed (40,000+ for Dracula X) but there's a few 1000 - 2000 yen games that would in reality not be much more expensive sealed. There's a good chance he's calculating these higher at 6000 or so.

I would like to see a breakdown if anyone feels like doing it. Was digging through there hoping he had a PC Cocoron. :)
