    Is this the hibaihin that is different for every version? I think I remember reading that there is a different opening screen with the winner's name or something along those lines. Could someone educate me more on this?

    I'm not quite sure about this. I found a page that might help you:

    http://www.geocities.co.jp/Playtown-Spade/8838/tournament/tournament.html

    I guess it is in Japanese, but for some unknown reasons my PC won't show me the jpn characters but only a mix of "Â￾Eƒ^ƒCƒgƒ‹‰Ã¦–" and so on.
    Well if someone can view the page properly I'd appreciate any translation :)
    At least there's nothing changed about the title screen except for the Tournament Special-writing in Hiragana below the logo.

    @Mario Paint
    Exactly, it is basically a VHS-version of a guidebook and teaches you some tricks about painting with MP within 30min of runtime.

    Use Firefox with automatic encoding detection or change the encoding option of your browser to japanese. No type of encoding has been set for this page so some browsers can't detect automaticaly which one to use.;-)

    Thanks, it works now :)
    @RichieStar
    No word about a name appearing and I don't think this is the one. Actually, I thought Rockman 4 gold cart was the one with the names? Also only 8 copies, sent out to the winners of the endboss designing competition.

    The Dodgeball one was actually one cartridge for each town where the competitions took place. The homepage basically describes two known locations of the game which I already mentioned (Retro Friends & Potato) plus some differences from the normal version (a frog does not appear when the lift bridge of the English court opens; 3min game time limit; no demo play if you wait at the title screen).

    But the author claims that there were 1000 copies produced. I can't believe that though, there would have been more around if that would be the case.

    But I can't believe only 8 peices was made because I saw 3 for sale last year, 2 was for sale on YJ!A and one was on Mbok! One I remember quite well because it was really, really scratched and not in nice condition at all. :(

    Edit: Edit error ^_^

    I have to say that 8 still sounds way more reasonable to me than 1000. These gold cartridges used as prizes had usually a pretty, pretty low run - see the Rockman 4 cart (only 8 copies, too).
    The seller of the current auction states that there was one copy for each city where the competition was held and in this context, 8 seem rather realistic.

    ave: thanks for the info. I really appreciate it. I think what I was referring to is the Rockman 4 goldcart, since they both have 8 only, I mistaken it for this cart. I think it was the Rockman 4 cart that are all different from each other. Do you have more info on the Rockman 4 cart? Have you ever seen one for sale?

    I saw one at Super Potato which also had an appearance in the Game Center CX series.
    Here's a picture I took:
    [IMG]
    When it was up at Game Center CX the price tag said 590'000JPY. Later when I was there (08/2007), they had removed the price tag.

    I don't have any more info about this but what I already said, sorry.

    I have that Eric! It is HUGE (for a micro)

    It is from China and I got it from a UFO catcher. It uses like 6 AAA batteries, but the light and the game is not actually that bad!

    But I think in your picture it shows Super Potato has two copies?

    I think 8 pieces isn't right, and cannot say 8 pieces because other gold cassettes are (doesn't mean this will be).

    Every seller/shop claims that there were 8 copies, so why shouldn't that be? Because you can find it in a whopping 3 game shops all over the world?

    I asked the elderly woman at Retro Friends and she told me there were 8 copies. The shop bought it directly from the winner of the competition a couple of years ago. I also took a photo of the showcase at super potato and the little info sheet in front of the game says 8 copies as well.

    If just 4 copies are left because of other 4 in shops, I think it comes up for sale quite a lot for so few left.

    Apparently, those at the game stores are just dustcatchers. Those at Retro Friends/Potato have been resting there for at least 5 years, if not longer.
    Plus I don't see it at yahoo too often and I doubt that this one will get sold as well. 300 is a big number for such a rare game... it might be popping up often on the screen, but I think this is mainly due to the hype about the price.

    If there were 300, there would be one or another ebay auction from time to time. Also, if a big console, limited on 150pc like the FFCC gamecube goes for €1000, why should an SFC special cart with 300 copies floating around be worth twice or fourth of that with only 3 known owners? I know at least 4 or 5 people with an FFCC Cube in this forum, let alone others.
