ables don't need power as such. All the power they use comes from the console or receiver it's connected to be that either the TV or framemeister in this case.

I was searching for these SCART switches as well, no luck either :(. (and prices are ridiculous btw.)

Euro SCART as connector died long time ago, everybody stopped production of these switches, and now basically we are on our own. I am currently involved into creating RGB/Audio switch board for my xrgb-mini myself. I plan to have 16 mini-din RGB inputs on one board (two 8 connector parallel lines on opposite sides of board). The focus is on quality, every signal pin will be separated from other, there will be logic which will switch input automatically based on voltage on mini-din pin 5 (SCART FB pin http://www.gamesx.com/wiki/doku.php?id=av:micomsoft_xrgb-mini_framemeister).

I assume the answer is a no, but do any of these XRGB products remove HDCP for those TV sets which were made before the HD standards were finalized?

HDCP stripping is a relatively easy affair at this point, no need to spend 300$+ on devices.

Ok, slightly off topic but I have to ask: What devices will strip HDCP for you? My dad ended up being an early adopter buying an HDTV before they finalized all the standards, so now his TV doesn't work with loads of devices. Is there a simple box that you know of that will remove HDCP?

Looks like i'll have to start saving some money. My trusty Philips 14" CRT is starting to have issues again.

Any ideas how much would cost for a Framemeister + PS2 D-Terminal Cable + PS1 RGB Scart (JAP) cable?

Most HDMI splitters (like the ones from Monoprice) will strip HDCP for about 40-50$. Mine requires the device, an optical cable for audio (which isn't ideal, but it's a bit older), an HDMI to DVI cable, and an HDMI cable.

OK, Framemeister with PS2 D-Terminal Cable would cost you 40800 yen shipped to Brazil but that RGB cable is going to cost about 3000 yen to 5000 yen for an official one from the likes of Amzon or Yahoo auctions.

Got mine a few days ago thanks to Yakumo :) 3 days delivery from Japan to UK there's a record :)

    So far I've tried:

    MD Jap - Composite
    PCE - Composite
    Xbox - Composite
    PSX - Component/D Terminal
    PS2 - Component

Everything in composite looks OK not great obviously.

Everything in component/d is just amazing, Thunder ForCE VI/Gradius V/Rtype Final are just so beautiful. I tried Thunder Force V on the PSX and again it's a hit. I have Haunting Ground playing on my PAL PS2 in component behind me and the progressive signal is beautiful. All upscaled to 1600x1200 on my DVI monitor, it's a bliss :)

I'm having issues with anything RGB and perhaps you guys can advise me or slap me on the wrist for my ignorance. I can run my PS2 using the PAL Scart cable that I bought in France, many many many moons ago and it looks great.

However when I try my MD Jap 1st Gen (bought in France as well in the heydays of import) I get this with ESWAT Jap, the cable I'm using is not RGB 21 Jap so I'm using the RGB to Scart Adapter made by retrogamingcables.co.uk which I received this morning (very quick delivery). I get the same results using the same MD cable on my PAL Master System. My PAL SNES and SFC don't display anything using the official PAL Nintendo SCART cable.

    Any thoughts?

I've added that I also sell the D-Terminal to Component / Component to D-Terminal cables for 1000 yen when ordered with a Framemeister XRGBmini (Shipping included).

So I have a Ex-board that I'm trying to hook up to an XRGB-Mini. Ex-board outputs 31khz. So I had a VGA-->JP21 adapter since the XRGB accepts 31k via the RGB port. However, I'm getting a screen like this:

Do I need a sync cleaner or something?

personally I would go with VGA on a DC

either hack job the console yourself or get a HANZO which is only $60

It is compatable with Dreamcast and does make none VGA games look very good but the unit is more suited for Saturn, PlayStation and older consoles.

The problem with that is most TVs don't have VGA input these days. Even if he converts it to something like an HDMI signal to run on a typical TV it'll also need to be uscaled and without a dedicated box for that he'll need to rely on his TVs upscaling which is typically pretty bad.
