Sure it's not just BF deals? I mean shit everything is getting prices slashed for black friday (PS3 w/ 2 games for $200, 360 w/ kinect and 2 games for $200).
Get pics next time you go back. when does a store ever throw an actual console in a bin? Even when stores where dumping gcn a few years back they where still on a shelf in the game section.
It really isn't great. Most of the good deals are in very limited quantities and you usually have to wait in line for hours just to get a chance to even get it. Not to mention the throngs you have to maneuver through. It really isn't worth it imho. I tried to snag a couple of deals a few years ago and left mostly empty handed and feeling like a consumer whore.
well we already pay 99% of electronics 50% more than US and the idea of those special sales make me really envious...
What a bust. Normally i'd advise buying up a couple for selling on eBay for the christmas rush but I don't think anybody wants a 3DS. Should of waited slightly longer and got a larger and more solid launch lineup.
The whole 3D thing is yesterdays news in Japan. They pushed it so hard but no one took to it. In most big stores now the special 3D areas are gone and the TVs are along with the rest of the other TVs now. can't say I'm surprised. having to wear the glasses is a right pain in the arse for those of us who wear glasses already and in Japan that's an awful lot of them. Sure, when I watch 3D in the cinema I wear contacts but I don't want to be doing that in the home. Yakumo
Went to bestbuy monday night, there were already people in tents in the parking lot. I am not exaggerating. I have pictures, though the pics are from the next tuesday, which was yesterday. When me and my dad went a few years ago we were trying to get a plasma tv, we weren't that behind in line (considering we got there late, and this is FRY's) but we still walked out empty-handed. When we got outside we saw where all the tv's went, people picked them up in quantities. We saw a couple walk out with 2 carts, with 2 50" samsung plasmas each. :banghead:
Black Friday is bullshit. Though sales on 3DS consoles sound interesting since while it isn't a smashing success currently I don't think it is on the way out or anything like that.
Black Friday is something to experience at least once but after that you start dreading having to go out that day.
If only stores were like that here. Easy resell, if you were to sell them. 3DS is most likely going to be scrapped. I haven't seen anyone playing one in the streets like I saw the original DS. Oh well, GG Nintendo on this one.
I don't think it's going to be scrapped. I think they're going to sell a lot of units this Christmas, with the help of Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7, and once those people have them, they'll show them to their friends and then more people will want them. I think the 3DS's main problem is marketing. I think that the 3DS is fundamentally difficult to market, because most people don't understand how it works until they see it for themselves. Then again, I haven't seen many 3DS ads at all, and none of them explain how the device works. In any case, most of the people I've shown my 3DS to have been really impressed. I think what the product really needs is word of mouth. That, and more people need to try it. Once more people have the device (which I think will start to happen around Christmas), more people will get to try it, and it'll snowball from there.
What the system needs is a real killer app! I am still waiting for Layton vs. Ace Attorney, can somebody give me a heads up if there is a release date?
