For 129 bucks its tempting but ill wait for less than 100.Anyway the only reason I wanted one was for mega man legends 3 and thats gone. Also for some reason I dont see the 3d effect at the gamestop kiosk 3ds.When i turn on the 3d effects it just seems like a huge blur to me.
Nintendo has to get its shit together and make a new 3DS with better specs, dual analogs and a capacitive screen This will, of course, piss off a lot of early adopters, but is either this or losing the entire portable market Besides they already pulled a shit move like this with the GBASP, which was what the GBA should have been in the first place
GBA SP still played all the games the GBA did though. What you are talking about would be a whole new platform. Nintendo won't do that. Face it, the 3DS is here to stay. It may have a shorter life span than the GBA or DS but they aren't about to abandon it.
Of course they aren't going to abandon the 3ds, but even Nintendo knows they fucked up. That's why they are releasing an unsightly, awkward looking add-on which adds a much needed right stick and if I'm not mistaken, extra triggers along with it. They are only doing this because they don't want to piss off early 3ds owners when they release a remodeled 3ds with a better screen, battery, and the add-ons built in. I guarantee within the next year, maybe two, that this will happen. That's why stores are selling them for cheap; because no one is buying them, and because they know a better version is on the way. What's my proof, you may ask? Common sense. Think about it, Nintendo always releases a remodeled version of their portables. (GB Pocket, GBA SP, GBA Micro, DSLite, DSI, DSI-XL) Except this time, they know they have a clunky add-on prior to designing it, so why not include it?
The original DS was bulky and had a horrible screen, however I still preferred it over the DSLite. Handhelds just have too many versions, usually buying the first model has it's Pros and Cons I guess.
I first had a launch model DS, then a good friend bought the DS Lite. When I first saw them side by side I noticed that the classic DS has a "warmer", more natural looking picture, while the screen of the DS Lite is brighter obviously. If you don't need a bright picture, I'd still go with the classic DS.
It's how I saw it too, the colours on the DSLight were amazingly saturated, extremely noticeable on Mario Kart DS.
DSLite also marked the point where Nintendo forgot how to make d-pads. The original DS had a fine d-pad, every iteration afterwards had a terrible one. Anyways, 3DS isn't going to fail. A new Mario game just came out on it to killer reviews, a new Mario Kart game is about to come out for it, and they announced an original Zelda is coming out for it. Nintendo has already done what it has to do to ensure a system's success.
No, better specs mean a bigger battery with at least 8 hours, and a better 3D screen that wont blind you to death. The dual analogs are already here in the form of that retarded addon, and the capacitive screen is a quality addition, because as I said before only the shittiest gadgets still use resistive screens. With these additions the 3DS will be closer to the PSV, iPod and Android phones, instead of looking like a dumb expensive toy
If you see a blurry mess, it probably means you're looking at it from the wrong angle. You have to hold it at a certain angle and distance from your eyes; if you don't, you'll see a blurry mess. I can't speak for everyone else, but the 3DS's screen does not hurt my eyes. I've played it a ton, and never had any problems. I don't see why people keep demanding a "better" screen for the 3DS. It's as good or better than most smartphone screens I've seen, except that the resolution is lower. They're not going to make a higher-res screen for the 3DS, because it would require a massive overhaul of the hardware. Who plays a handheld for 8 hours? When you're done playing, pop it in the charger. It has a dock, so all you have to do is set it down. It's really not much of an issue.
I love the 3ds I just had to turn down the 3D to about 2/3 and it was great. Although I have had 3D on my computer for 10 years now so there wasn't much of a switch for me.
You have to force yourself to go crosseyed. I have to take my glasses off to see it. In theory it could be very dangerous.
well 3ds is going to fare better now... here in italy they hid all the Ds from the shops not joking! very difficult to find one around beside the XL that costs 10 euros more than a 3ds... crazy!
