A lot of other third parties abandoned the GC too. And really, who can blame them after MGS: Twin Snakes managed to flop with such a recognizable brand? ...but they were complete flops...or at least the Saturn was, the DC managed to sell 10 million units in only a couple of years...the GC took about 5 years to sell 20 million, which doesn't really speak for the GC as an unqualified success when a console that's generally acknowledged as a failure managed to sell at about the same rate.
Ever at 129 they didn't sell. Went back to check and they put them back to normal price. "I think we sold three"
The Xbox only sold maybe 4 million more than the GC. Was it a failure? What's the magic number for you where something is no longer a failure?
That's very true, but who can be arsed to go rooting through quarterly earnings reports for worldwide totals?
Oh christ. That's what killed New Super Mario Bros WII for me...it got too friggin difficult about halfway through the game which caused me to lose interest.
I beat Super Mario 3d land and it was fantastic it probly gets harder for most people but I didn't find it excruciatingly hard.
Really? How long did it take you to finish it (hours)? Judging by how fast I'm progressing, it seems like it may be rather short.
I want to say my first FULL play through (unlocking everything) took me around 20 hours. My second full play through took around 10 though. It does get more challenging eventually, but the majority of the challenge comes from the subtle level design built around time attack.
Assembler can suck my balls if the 3DS is failing http://techcrunch.com/2011/12/07/nintendo-president-iwata-says-the-3ds-is-back-on-track/
Those are Japan numbers only, this doesn't cover US or Europe. How is it going in those two areas? Got to look at the whole picture here. =hugh
Last I heard the 3DS had sold over 2.5 million in the U.S.. Or something along those lines. No clue about Europe.
"iwata says" seriously? thats your source? BTW, know which other console did great in japan? the Saturn Yeah...
