Well I didnt make much in a fundraiser for this but its too important to not have out there so here's the rom to the dezaemon 64DD proto. A BIG thanks goes out to those who donated. Without them games like this would never come out of the woodwork! I'll leave the link up for awhile but it will eventually become bad. enjoy! https://rapidshare.com/files/934356953/dezaemon298.rar Donators: 1. stefan.iro 2. DarthCloud 3 Gilgamesh 4. I just received them today and can now confirm they do in fact contain the expansion. I'll be posting video monday evening showing the expansion. I purchased three disks from him and they all three contain the expansion, but may differ slightly. As of now all I know that is different is two have an IPL of 6 and one of 9...........more to follow as I find out
man me too, and I'm glad when you sold them they were taken care of. 64DD stuff is so hard to come by. Just got done messing with then and all three are different as well. videos soon!!!
little more info on the disks. There's no need for anything but an actual DD dev unit. I loaded the dezaemon 3D commercial rom to my partner (dont actually own the cart yet go figure but will soon), insert the disk and your good to go. the disk ID is DEZA. All three are different with one being what seems like as final of a build as they got to. Wont have a camera for video until monday evening so no videos until then. Anyone have any extra blank labels for dev disks? I dont have any and would like to label these.
Hope this will stimulate 64DD emulation! Would be great too, to find a way to play it on regular 64DD so everyone can enjoy it.
Dezaemon 3D Expansion Disk found I also own a KMC Partner N64, which I got with my Wideboy 64 from Shiggsy a long time ago. Additionally I have a standard 64DD Drive and the Dezaemon 3D cart! I really would appreciate to play the Dezaemon Expansion disk one day. Unfortunately I don´t think it´s possible to re-write a 64DD disk with the Dezaemon 3D code. :crying: I would even trade one of my Wideboy 64 carts (I own two of them) for a working Dezaemon 3D Expansion Disk... Good luck dumping the Dezaemon 3D Expansion Disk! stefan.iro
I actually had to sell a wide boy to fund part of the buy. I happen to have two of them so selling one wasn't a biggy. If a proper emulator is ever finished it will be possible to use the expansion disk.
An update, the build dates are as follows, November 97, February 98, and April 98. Exact days and times are there but I'm holding those details...... the dates are interesting considering Athena didn't announce DD details until what mid/late 99?
Personally I think the April ´98 version should be final or at least close to final! The commercial cart was released by 26-Jun-1998, which was already prepared for the Dezaemon 3D add-on disk. The reason why the held back any information could be the unknown release date of the 64DD drive itself. Even at Space World ´99 there was no information on the Dezaemon 3D add-on disk. http://64dd.net/modules/news/article.php?storyid=193 stefan.iro Only a public release could give the 64DD a boost. Especially the Dezaemon 3D Expansion disk has high potential to refresh the interest in 64DD development as the game contains a level editor: http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21097 I would even support a fundraiser, but I doubt that willis82 can make much money this way. There are just too many leechers... http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5744 Can´t wait to see the game in action on Monday! stefan.iro
This is great news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to see your video up!!! Thanks for wanting to share this great find with us willis82!!!!!
yeah no problem for sharing, that's the whole reason I bought them. For those out there as fascinated with the 64DD as I am I know new material is pretty much non existent so I couldnt let this game stay in the shadows anymore. But big credit does go to the person who sold them to me, he knew my intentions to release them so he gave me a decent price for the disks.
alright as promised videos. now the quality is the best I could get it with the digi camera I have. Wish I had a video capture card in my PC but I dont. So here ya go http://www.youtube.com/user/brandonwilliams82?feature=mhum Added pics of the actual dev disks and a pic of disk 3 with just the ipl4rom loaded to partner, disk is asking for dezaemon 3d cart. I was asked to try the disks without dezaemon 3d loaded to the partner to see the error messages. The other two builds do not ask for the cart, I get just a blank screen but the 4/98 build does. http://s217.photobucket.com/albums/cc160/willis82_photos/64dd/
