So we gonna do this or what? I will have about $1500- $2000 by next summer if I save my ass off. It would help if we could come up with a plan, share a hotel, have some sort of "agenda."

I don't mean we need to have every second planned out, but maybe we could go in the off season when hotels are cheap, agree on a cool place (area I mean) to stay where we could find lots of dope stuff and deals, meet up with out Japanese resident posters to show us around, etc.

I don't really know where to start. I've never traveled overseas on my own before.

Well it was mentioned as "the place to be in former times but having lost much of its glory". I stumbled upon it without knowing, and I'm not even sure - all I could make out was a sign saying "Goruden" in katakana.

And I'm sorry but I won't be able to go this year, I already went last summer and this summer I'm going to visit the US. However, I plan on going back to Japan the summer afterwards, with a few friends :)

Definitely to Michigan (Lansing to be precise) to visit my dad's family, but from there on I will travel around a bit. Where to is not sure yet, I'd love to go to the West or South once but all my previous US travel has been withing DC - Chicago - NY - Philly, heck my dad has never been in California and he lived in the US for 36 years :-(

Watch out. Michicgan is the only place in the world that has as many insurgants as Fallujah. They're just white rednecks.

Well, if you do decide to visit the Los Angeles area I'll be more than happy to hang out.

Pshhh Los Angeles. Northern California is the theoretical melting pot of America, SoCal is an example of what happens when an inferior melting pot overflows :smt023

Yeah that's true Kyuusaku. But there are advantages to living in Los Angeles.

Like there are tons of hot chicks running all over the place

There are almost as many "hot chicks" up there too, but they're smarter...

You guys won't believe this, but I think hot-chick (dumb blonde) central is Southwest University in Texas - where LBJ went to school. It's filled with all the cheerleaders that couldn't get into the University of Texas at Austin.

Do you have any particular States in mind?

Not really, I'd just like to see more of the "normal" country outside of the tourist hotspots. During my past trip, in 2003, what I enjoyed most was the stay at my family (who live in Lansing), more than the days of walking around in New York :)

  15. Well if you head through Cali, make a drive of it and skirt through Ashland - it's only 15 miless north of the Oregon/California border. :smt023

Hey, maybe all three of us could meet up. I wouldn't mind taking a road trip to Northern California (never been up there.)

    You are correct :)
The notion of taking a road trip to California with 3 weirdos immediately conjured that image in my mind :smt043
