If you want to add subtitles to the show, you could embed them in the video file. That way people will have the choice to turn them on or off. I think it's also possible to do that with Youtube.
Yes, YouTube can accept subtitle scripts but I hate doing subtitles because you have to time them with the speech. This takes time and more work than a simple scrolling text bar.
The next Battle Of The Ports is made with the text bar. I just need to add the voice over. Hopefully I'll get time tomorrow morning to add it.

I watched the After Burner II episode, it was a good episode. You said that the DC version was better than the Saturn version because it ran at 60fps, and you said that the Saturn version runs at 30fps. I was just playing the Saturn version, and I think you're wrong. I have a pretty good eye for this kind of thing, and I think the Saturn version runs at 60fps. I think the arcade version does too, though I'm not sure since I don't own the arcade version. The Saturn version runs at 60fps though.
Do you have the DC version at hand? If you do give both of them a try next to each other. The DC seems to be smoother to me which made me believe that the Saturn version is only 30fps. I have Shenmue II actually, though it's the European version. I've been meaning to play that game for a while. I always want to play the original and II in sequence, but usually I can't finish the first one - even though I really love that game. Anyway, I guess I could just play far enough in that game to try the After Burner II port. It might be different, since it's the European version.
I tried the DC version. I looked at them back to back, both on the same monitor (PVM-20M2MDU) using RGB. They look pretty much identical. I think possibly the DC version has more sprites on screen, though it's hard to tell. Anyway, they definitely run at the same framerate, which is probably 60fps. I say probably because I'm just judging it by eye. But I can tell just from looking at it that it's at least 60fps, and since my monitor has a maximum vertical scan rate of 60Hz, it can't be any more than that. Therefore it must be 60fps.
Yes, there is a way to do that, and you already did it. The video file for that episode of BotP was recorded in 60fps, correct? The file reads as 60fps as well. If you go to either the Saturn or the Dreamcast versions in the video and play it one frame at a time, you'll see that (both) the systems render a new frame for each frame you move forward in the video - which proves that it is at least 60fps. If either version was 30fps, then you would have to move forward 2 frames in the video for each frame from the system.
Really? Now that is an easy way of testing. I need to give that a try with a known 30fps game or even less with say something like Daytona on the Saturn.
Battle of the Ports - Night Striker!!
I love Night Striker the Saturn version is brilliant, I imported it back in the day for silly money think it was about £70 didn't regret it at all it was class!
I've always loved Night Striker. I still own my original Mega CD version in mint condition. I don't really play that version these days though since I have the saturn one too. Still, I do pop in the Mega CD game every now and then just to listen to the arranged soundtrack.
Yeh that arranged soundtrack is pure quality! I wonder why they dropped it from the Saturn version? Oh and good tosee the Saturn version piss all over the Playstation version...
There are many Saturn versions that piss all over the PS versions but you'll mostly find sites either not mentioning the Saturn version or saying "Well, they're both the same". It's always been like that since the begining. It is odd why the Mega CD arranged soundtrack wasn't used in the Saturn game when VING clearly used an arranged version of the main theme for the CG movie. Maybe there was some sort of license issue with Zuntata (Taito's sound team) or maybe they just copletely over looked it or never even knew about the Mega CD's arranged music?
That's very weird indeed. From what i can remember, In The Hunt and Doom are the only game ports that were superior on the PS1. There are probably more, but pratically anything ported from PC or Arcades runs better on the Saturn. The Saturn extra memory really helped this.
It's true but some people just don't bother t check and instantly say the PS version is best. In the Hunt is better on the PS though, that is true.
