Battle of the Ports - The Ninja Warriors
Yakumo, I don't understand... how does the longplay for The Ninja Warriors on Amiga has (pretty good) music during the gameplay? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LV6glE4upIc Anyway, nice episode. Never payed much attention to this Taito game until now.
Another great show Yakumo. The voice over seems a lot more competent as well. Man it's times like this I really regret selling my Mega Cd collection, it looked and sounded far and away the best home version in comparison to the others, mind you the. C64 is a bloody good effort!
as 7Force mentioned, that music is dubbed on to the video. The real Amiga game has no in game music. I'm actually reading the text (mostly) that I use for the scrolling text bar That's probably why it sounds a little better than my other show, Retro Core. There's no script at all for that one.
This show is my favourite, i even prefer to watch it on my TV. I never had the opportunity to play Ninja Warriors back in the day, apart from the arcade. Amiga and Commodore64 weren't common computers around here and both the MegaCD and PCEngine were too expensive. Anyway, i know you probably thought about already, but any plans for a Daytona USA BOTP? There's the Arcade, the 2 saturn versions, 2 PC versions (based on the saturn, but with higher resolutions and improved draw distances), Dreamcast and finally the Xbox Live / PSN version, which is basicly the arcade with minor improvements. Also, some shooters like Gradius or Darius / Sagaia or a classic like Elevator Action would make good shows as well.
All those the pipeline my good man although Daytona emulation maybe an issue. I'll probably do that the same way I did the Sega Rally video.
I could help you with Model 2 emulation, if needed. My computer can easily handle Model 2 games at any resolution.
Thanks la-li-lu-le-lo. My desk top can do model 2 in full HD but the issue with that is the desk top also does the recording. So, I'm thinking to run model 2 at 720p (since the show goes out in 720p anyway) and capture the game "FRAPS" style using the capture card's screen capture option. It should work just fine. If I do have problems I'll be sure to ask for help.

Battle of the Ports - Daytona USA out now in HD and should be 60fps if using the Chrome browser.
Cool. Looks like the only main ones it's not working with are Fire Fox and IE. Not tried Opera yet but I do use that on the phone so I'll give it a shot.
Thanks. Just a shame the PC games wouldn't run on the laptop. It wasn't a question of power but more to do with the graphics driver. They both ran on the desk top although the first PC game had some serious issues with the 2D graphics.
Yes I noticed that, the sky was all jerked up. Not to worry these are ancient games You'd probably need a really old graphic car to make it run properly.
Hell yeah, Daytona! To this day i'm still amazed me how AM2 mixed everything so perfectly. The graphics, the music, the sound, the rubber band to keep races close... It's actually weird to think it's a 20 year old racing game. I always get a smile on my face whenever i see one of the classic twin cabinets on local arcades. It truly survived the test of time. As for the ports, the first Saturn port really haven't aged well. In my mind, it always looked closer to the first PC version. The Dreamcast version still looks great and since i never played it, i can't say much about controls. But i do agree with you on the weird cars. Why they had to change the look of the cars and add a widebody? PS3/Xbox360 is the ultimate port. I just wish people kept playing it on PS3, i can't find anyone online. Honestly, Sega has to put this on Steam, Xbox One and PS4. Doesn't even need to be cross-buy, i'll happily buy it again.
