How about Metal Slug (the first one)? There have been quite a few ports, though most of the later ones were just emulations of the arcade version. At least there's the arcade, the AES version (which is the same as the arcade), the Neo Geo CD version, the Saturn port, and the Playstation port. I have the original arcade (MVS) version, so I could provide footage of that version if needed.

Is there any difference between the Neo CD and the AES/MVS versions apart from the audio and loading times? I know that Art of Fighting 3 on the CD has smaller sprites!

It was, probably best turtles movie and edgiest kids movie ever made. I remember playing a dedicated Narc can once, beautiful screen really super sharp picture, emulation doesn't do it justice.

I'm not sure. I've never played the Neo Geo CD version.

Wow, I've never seen that game before. I guess it was a low key release?

Nope, I've never seen it. There are quite a few games we don't get to see in Japan but then again it goes the other way around too for the west.

Well, there were a few issues with YouTube encoding the video but after 15 hours it's finally gone live.

Battle of the Ports - Raiden. And yes, it is pronounced Rai-den, not Ray-den :)

Nice. Any particular reason you left Super Raiden out of your video?

Super Raiden? What system is that on? Maybe Super Raiden is a different game? Or is it the western name for the Super Nintendo Raiden game?

It's the CDROM version of Raiden for the PC Engine, Yakumo. It was only released in Japan though. I thought you didn't add it because it was the same game in the chip, except for the arranged redbook soundtrack (which makes it one of my favorite versions of the game -- but not sure if it's any better than the FM Towns soundtrack).

Thanks for the link. I didn't know about that version. I probably would have added it just for the soundtrack to be honest :)

@johnny, good to hear that you guys down in Brazil pronounce th are of Raiden correctly unlike in English speaking countries. The amount of times I've heard it called Ray-den is unbelievable. It's the same with Gaiden and Gay-den :)

Yakumo-sama are you thinking of doing an Altered Beast, or a Wonderboy BOTP sooner or later ? Cause that would actually be pretty interesting :) Anyway, that could be one hell of an adventure to delve into . Anyway keep up the good work ! :)

    Nice Altered Beast video!

Yakumo, your PCE Altered Beast crashed because it really doesn't work like all other CDROM games that are compatible with later system cards... basically it stops scrolling after the beast transformation if you're using anything but the System Card 1.0 (very first revision).

A kind of funny thing about PC Raiden Yakumo, you were not that far off with your FM-Towns music there as there was a redbook CD version of the dos game.
