My memories from Legend of Kage are mostly from the brazilian Nintendo clones at stores. For some reason, there was always one of those connected to a TV running the game. I might have played it at a friends house, but at that time it felt a little boring.

As for Gauntlet i used to play it a lot on the Master System. I don't think i ever saw a real arcade cab though.

The real arcade cabs of Gauntlet were pretty big thanks to its 4 player control panel.
When you say Brazilian clones of Kage,, do you mean Brazilian remakes of the game or just copied arcade boards?

I mean cloned / piracy carts for the Nintendo. During the 80's / early 90's pretty much anything related to Nintendo consoles was basic clones. Take a look:

    http://www.nesarchive.net/v1/brasil/clones.htm

It wasn't before 1993 that Playtronic (Gradiente and Estrela joint venture) got the rights to sell the original Nintendo, the Super Nintendo and the Gameboy. By 1995, everybody was already thinking about PS1, SAT and N64.

Here's some clone Legend of Kage cartridges from that era:

From CCE, that released a couple of dual system clones (accepted both US and JP carts)

From Dismac, that released a very similar clone of the NES

Wow, that sure was a popular game to clone. Thanks for the links.

What games would you like to see in a future show? Please remember that the game must have been in the arcades.

Hmm, space Invaders would take forever. I may keep that one for summer holidays. Must be about 20 plus versions of that.

All the other games are worth doing apart from Samurai Spirits IV. Only 2 real Ports being Saturn and PlayStation and maybe PS2 but I can't run burned games on my Ps2 and don't want to buy it :p

Ninja Gaiden, Shadow Warriors, Ninja Ryukenden. Whatever you want to call it, the new Battle of the Ports is out now.

Damn, some times I wonder why on Earth the people who ported games for the Amiga. Not asked the X68000 developers to perhaps look at the source code for their ports of certain games. Cause then perhaps they would indeed be better ports. Than some of the Amiga ports became instead. Cause in my mind, the Amiga could have done a LOT better with certain games. Than it sadly did. But great show none the less :)

I always found interesting that Ninja Gaiden was mostly famous because of the Nintendo versions, since they were totally different (and better) games than the arcade. The late release on the Master System is very good too.

Pit Fighter, oh well. I remember when it arrived to the arcades around here. The arcade at the mall i used to go had like 6 or 7 cabinets. It used to have lines of teenagers waiting to play it. Couple of months later, only one cabinet was left, mostly forgotten next to a Time Traveler.

Still, it's one of my guilty pleasures. The game is crap but it brings some cool memories from the late 80's / early 90's arcade days.

Never owned it, but i remember renting Wonder Boy for the Master System lots of times.

One of the best arcade ports in the system.

Indeed, the Master System version is very close to the arcade game.

What a great episode. But damn, I must love the C64. Cause the music in that version , is to me the best. But then I have a weakness/soft spot for some SID tune versions of themes. Since I feel the SID rendition of the Commando theme is fitting it perfectly, because it is so rough and hard at the same time :) other times I do enjoy the more soft sound of the Amiga version of certain themes. But anyway great episode :) And I am also quite surprised, I expected some serious hardcore shouts and curses about some of the versions/ports . Have you become ill, of the "retro-bug" ? ;)
