I'm glad you are liking the shows. I've not done Doom because the focus of BOTP is to cover arcade to home conversions. Doom was never an arcade game I'm afraid. Yep, I was quite surprised at how well the Amiga version was. It's by no means an amazing game but it is a good game.
I've watched a few of these here and there. This is good material Yakumo. I find a good 9/10 gaming videos borderline-if-not-outright repulsive, but your videos are done right. Informative at that.
I've played the 360 Double Dragon II, but had no idea it had anything to do with the original DDII. It was real bad though.
Great news! I'll try to watch it later tonight. Loved playing it on the Master System, even though the port wasn't really that great. Only managed to find the arcade version a couple of times.
That brings so many memories. The arcade i used to go, back in the day, had a cockpit / deluxe cabinet of Super Monaco GP. I never forgot it because it was incredibly loud! The attract music and engine sounds from the demo gameplay were fantastic. I was so impressive that the day i went there and couldn't hear it, i knew they had moved the game to another location. The ammount of stuff happening on screen was insane too. When i saw pictures of the Master System port on a magazine it was so disappointing. I rented it once, only to find out it the gameplay was terrible as well. Senna's Super Monaco GP2 was way better, but it still had terrible sound.
Lucky you having access to the deluxe cabinet. Never played the DX version however I have been lucky enough to play Taito's Continental Circus DX cabinet with the 3D viewer attached.
Forgot to post about Line of Fire. My memories of it are mostly of how the cabinet looks, since it was such a token eater! No wonder it stood right next to another token eater, Laser Ghost. It was so unfair how these games were setup, it wasn't until emulation that i really played them. Added the Cloud Master one to the Watch Later list, so i won't forget to watch it tomorrow. Never owned the game, but was always able to borrow it from a friend. To me, it was such an underappreciated game.
Oh, Laser Ghost was on the Master System also. I had no idea it was an arcade game. Now I need to see what the arcade is like.
The Laser Ghost arcade machine had a cool system where you looked through a glass on the gun that made it look like you were shooting lasers. Actually, that's the only thing I remember about the whole game.
Surprisingly, considering how obscure the game is and how you can only get the effect on a real cabinet, there's a video on Youtube.
