Nice episode mate! Shame it was never ported to any consoles, would have loved to see it running on PC Engine for instance
Oh wow, excellent choice. I will definitely be watching this soon. I enjoyed this game the few times I was able to play it.
Never knew the Japanese arcade version had such differences. Thanks for sharing that. I do remember playing the DOS version back in the day. It's weird, the video makes it look/play better than i remember. Such a shame Konami could never released ports for consoles.
Yeah, I think the video does make the DOS version look better than it really is. Must be all of those nice colours
Because the paid for them. Just like they had the rights to marvel characters from x-men for the longest time.
I know that why, but more like "why was the company that bought the rights the company that cannot make a good game for 25 years (that isn't a Midway arcade port)?"
Another cool and usually forgotten Sega game. I always thought it's concept was way ahead of it's time though. The player screen is too cropped which end up being unfair, since enemies can see you and shoot first. Another thing, maybe it was ok for an big arcade monitor, but the HUD takes too much space on the home ports. Control wise, it would benefit of having strafing and today's analog controls. Still, i like the game. This was from a time when Sega and others weren't afraid to create new and different concepts.
What are you talking about? The SEGA game is Crack Down while the modern game is Crackdown. it's one word. Also, in Japan Crackdown is called Riot City so a remake can be made here at least if the title really was an issue.
