I remember they used to have that game (the SNES version) in a video rental store that was in a grocery store I used to go to. I thought it looked pretty cool, but I didn't have an SNES at the time. I don't think I realized there was a Genesis version; I may or may not have still had my Genesis at that point. Anyway, I bought the SNES version recently, and my reaction was, "Wow... this is shit." I actually kind of like the music, and it's pretty impressive that they were able to get FMV working on the SNES, but the game just plays terribly. Have you ever done an episode on Primal Rage?
Jeez, playing every version of Rise of the Robots is some serious dedication to your YT channel, I'm impressed!
Yep, that was some serious dedication to get through all of that crap. I haven't done Primal Rage yet but that's another shitty Fighter that's on the to do list.
The initial message sums it up: "It's all crap" LOL. Kudos to you for having the patience to "play" all these ports. But yes, i do remember the hype in magazines back in the day. It always looked like crap to me. When i had the chance to play the 3DO version, then i discovered the gameplay was even worse. And somehow, it even managed to get a sequel! Why?! PS: If you want to know more about the history of this game, watch this:

There are over 10 games, soundtrack CDs, radio plays, live shows, animation, books, toys and so on. Today we'll take a look at Detana!! Twinbee. One game that did actually get a western release in Europe as Bells and Whistles. The Wii Virtual Console version is not featured because it's an emulation of the PC Engine version. PSP and XBOX 360 versions are not featured because they are emulations of the arcade game. Great episode Yakumo. I dare to say it was probably one of the "easiest" for you due to the lack of terrible ports and it's complicated controls.
Yep, this was an enjoyable BOTP to make. Many a time I feel my will to live is being zapped away by playing crappy ports Thanks! I always say this but it's great to know there are people out there who enjoy the show.
There is one more port that is missing in the video. And that's the PS2 version via World Heroes Gorgeous (World Heroes Anthology). It's a near perfect port.
Please read the video description. The PS2 port is not a port, it's emulated and this is why it's not featured on this video.
