Wow, Thruxton is an all time classic however it's not for everyone. It's sure worth checking out though.

It wasn't until Fatal Fury 2 that i got interested on the series. Maybe it's because i never played the original game on the arcades... Anyway, the Super Famicom Fatal Fury port is really impressive... graphically. Everything else seems terrible, like you mentioned. As for the X68000, even with the annoying disk swapping you mentioned, just imagine how incredible would be to have one of these beasts back in the day.

Truxton is such an iconic early Mega Drive title. Wasn't hard to see a Mega Drive on a store running this game. That skull bomb effect probably sold lots of consoles on it's own.

I think you are right. That skull bomb effect was awesome back in the day.

Normally I wouldn't touch a sports game but this one is actually good.

2020 baseball was another excellent episode. I assumed the makers of baseball stars 2 did 2020 baseball as well since they were very similar and really only changing out robots for the humans. I had never played the Genesis version back in the day having only owned the super nes version which I thought was well done. The Genesis version sound was pretty bad yes it had a lot of samples but the voices weren't very clear.

YOu should check out the MD version. It really does play much better than the SNES version. I too played the SNES version back n the day but recently tried the MD port and found it to be much better.

I've heard about this game but never actually played it.

I'm really surprised to see another SFC port being bad and curiously, it's another NeoGeo game.

I think most Neo Geo ports on the SFC suffer. The only one that is really great is Fatal Fury Special.

Perhaps this is due to the Megadrive main CPU being much closer to the Neogeo's than the SFC. Probably Takara couldn't be bothered that much. Looking at the MD and PCE ports especially, the SFC ports could have been a lot better, it's a great machine, still they're playable but the music on some of the ports as pointed by Yakumo in previous BTOP episodes is hilarious.

World Heroes 2 on the SFC/SNES was a fantastic port.
Samurai Shodown could've been good if they kept the zoomed in look rather than zoomed out.

One of the coolest shooters ever... from a company that used to be synonym of quality.

Really weird to hear the X68000 port has issues. This is one of those games that anyone would say it's perfect on the system.

On the other hand, the C64 port is indeed an amazing job. Have to admire programmers that overcome system limitations and still manage to make a quality product.

I found out that the X68000 needs to be clocked higher than the standard system to run the game smoothly. I was using basic stock X68000 speed.

Another great episode Yakumo. I never realised there was never a MegaDrive port for this. Very weird, specially with the success of the console in Europe and USA / Latin America.

And the PC Engine, with all add-os/upgrades, is such a beast. Incredible port.
