Was finally able to watch the last three episodes. Thanks for making these amazing videos Yakumo, really top quality. It was cool to see that both RayStorm and Road Avenger had decent ports overall. But Darius... oh my god, those european computers "ports". Even the Gameboy version puts them to shame. Have to point out that the video is a nice reminder of how amazing Japanese phones were before the smartphones took over. I'm also surprised that Darius was never ported to the Saturn, specially when it got both Darius II and Darius Gaiden. PS: All this talk about Darius reminds me i still need to get Dariusburst Chronicle Saviours for the Vita. Hope it gets a little cheaper soon.
Thank you so much for covering Road Blaster! I think it is one of the coolest, and I'm happy that more people know about the SNES port. I love how they managed to get it running on original hardware
Quite a fitting game for the Halloween season. This week on Battle of the Ports we take a look at Wardner No Mori, also known as Pyros in the American arcades.
Hey Yakumo, I enjoy your show, even to this day. Anyway I know perhaps it is a bit crazy, but if you have time in the future. It would actually be cool to see if you could make a comparison video between certain games that both came out on the PC and the Amiga. Of course there are bad versions of the same game on the PC and the Amiga. Bot those I am thinking of , you can almost call PC and Amiga exclusive. I could compile a list of those games I am thinking of. Such as Project X, Superfrog, Robocod (James Pond 2) , Moonstone, Dune 2 , Space Crusade, among others. And why am I not mentioning the SSI roleplaying games or for that matter the point and click adventures that came out both on the PC and the Amiga ? Because they are way too big/long to make a good comparison video. Anyway keep up the good work Sorry if anyone thinks I am going off topic in this thread. I just do not know where else to put it, cause it can in some ways be a little side-project to BOTP
These have always been a nice treat to watch, as it's interesting to hear your opinion on the port and how well it plays. It's also a good thing that you keep the emulated ports out, as those are just cheating (anything from digital eclipse on a home console that has to do with the arcade, and I believe most if not all of the versions are emulations beyond the ps1). Keep it up.
Nice! But no MSX version? I know it's a little rubbish, it's in fact I believe the only title developed by Konami UK?
